Pulling for the Colonels. I wish it was at home, but I still think Whitley County by 7.

I'll be at this one. Going with the Jumpers at home

And what makes you think that you have cornered the market on terrible officials???

Anyway, last weeks' game didn't show me anything for Whitley; just not enough competition. But I have heard their passing D has improved. If that's true, I'm thinking 10-12 point victory for the Colonels.
If not, the game will be closer, but I still think Whitley will pull it out.
In any event, it's sure to be a great game.
Good luck to both teams; and NO injuries!!

Somerset runningback Will Lange will be out from a concussion in the Glasgow game Friday. That will hurt Somersets O quite a bit, but will be good experience to get the ball to Cheuvraunt, Williams, etc more. Hinton and Perdue still may be injured. Pretty banged up boys on the team right now

Hope Wil is OK.

Hope Will is OK and recovers fast from Concussion. Somerset is banged up pretty good. We need to get healthy Fast before District play starts.

^Agreed, probably wouldn't hurt to go on and sit some of the guys that are still banged up from the Breathitt County game but I doubt they are willing to sit for this game.

Just as long as the injured players are ready to go when district play starts, the Jumpers will be alright.

No possum: You don't joke or pretend with Injuries. TB Out. Center, DB, Safety and OLB Doubtful. If it were my call I hold all 5 out for Danville and hope I get no more hurt. If we win OK and if we lose So What, next week is more important.

I got to go with Whitley in this one. After what they did with Bell I was impressed. Bell County has been hands down the best team in the mountains for a few years now, but Whitley gave em all they wanted. No team in the mountains has come that close since Knox Central back in 2009 or 2010 and Harlan County last year. I think Whitley is a little better then Breathitt County and Somerset could not handle Breathitt so I like Whitley by 14.

Wow!!!Ok, well all I know is Bell County is good and are the kings of the mountains until someone takes em out and I don't think Breathitt and Bell has had a game in a long time either. Yes I do think Whitley could beat Breathitt but we will never know for sure because they don't play and Whitley is in 5a. I think you should worry more about getting the job done with Belfry before you even think about Bell or Whitley because you did not get it done last year.

I think Breathitt has a very good team this year but untill you prove it on the field it is all talk at this point. It is easy to say you can beat a team that you know the odds are good that you will never play in the post season because Bell will probably play Louisville Central before any of you. Bell is still the king of the mountains,Central is the king of 3a and Belfry is the kings over Breathitt until you go out and prove otherwise.erved:

Somerset Vs, Whitley will be a Great High School Football Game, I have friends that Coach at Whitley Co. and wish them the Best. Whitley Won the Game last year and Somerset did Just fine the next game beating Danville. I know Coach Lucas could give a tinkers damn about the Whitley Game other than he wants to play well and come out Healthy. I'm sure Coach Black feels the same. If Somerset was 100% healthy they would win this game but Healthy we are not. I think Somerset will show up and play hard and this will be a close game no matter who wins. Beat Danville!!!!!

This will be a good game regardless of which teams wins. I never believe any reports on injuries on here...especially if it comes from a displaced Raider fan. I mean seriously, you gonna believe a former McCreary County fan who only is a Somerset fan becuase of a single transfer and the fact that he cannot displace a politically connected AD at his former school? LOL REALLY?!?!?!!?
Bottom line if Whitley can stop the pass better than last year they will be fine, thier run defense has improved thoughout the season, and gotten better every game. Injuries have in a weird way helped the Colonels this season as they have developed depth from giving kids reps due to those injuries, and now kids are starting to return.

As far as Black or Lucas not wanting to win this game any more than other games on the schedule.....that is crazy, they want to win the game for a varity of reasons;
1. Momentum...both teams are starting to build it
2. Tiebreaking in the event of a tie in the district.
3. It is the game this week and both guys want to win every game.
4. How many times have you read on this and other sites about how Somerset got cheated last year? Yeah they want it bad. ( not getting into a discussion about last year, and have you ever noticed how some teams never lose the refs steal it?)
5. Good win for your program against a respected team.
