should kids contiue running after football season to try to be that much better the next year or should they just quit

I'd say to continue running. But also make sure you work in the weights and agility training as well. A well conditioned player will start making a bigger impact later in games as other players begin to wear down.

I agree completely

No they should cease all physical activity . . . .
Seriously--what kind of question is this?
The best thing that they could do is run track and get a good dose of BASE training. (But we can go into that later).

why wouldn't they continue running if they didn't it would slow them down they should lift wieghts to because if you don't then everybody will pass you up if you don't. If someone really loved the sport then they would want to do good so they work as hard as they can to good

Yes they should it will keep in shape, also when summer conditioning comes into play you will be more conditioned and read to run in the heat. Also i would recamend it just bc you dont wanna lose the speed u had before.

I think that the offseason should consist of 3 things. Plyometrics, conditioning(running) and lifting!

Stay flexible!!!!!!!!

no i think they should go the full extra mile
01-21-2006, 02:46 AM
yeah.....and do sprints. I read in M&F that distance running will affect strenth gains, but sprints do not.

Well even though they should keep runnin i dont think their is many peole runnin out there that played football. Most people are losing all of their drive and heart. Most people are resenting going into the weight room. I know at the beggenin of the weightliftin season we had 15 after school weightlifters and it seems like we only have 6 anymore. They have the 7th period guys that are a real help and a boost to my drive and heart. I have kept runnin and i hope that after some people read this thread that they will start running

They should definately run as much as they can. Sprints and long distance.
01-21-2006, 03:38 PM
But seriously who does that
01-22-2006, 04:28 AM
