Justin Johnson to Perry Central
UPIKEFAN Wrote:How about an abbreviated version so I don't have to wade back thru all the manure? What are you talking about?

And congratulations. I am first team all laptop, honorable mention Iphone.

John paul amis's son is getting upset that his dad has been brought up on here. A lot of people in Perry County have said that several other players should have gotten playing time over the Amis's and oustidelookingin brought that up. I'llgo out and say that no one should have gotten any PG or QB minutes over Jordan Amis. I won't say that about the other ones though lol
pccfan24 Wrote:It is always funny to see how a subject can go from being about a player to being about my father. You always notice that it is people with a user name talking smack other than someone actually coming up to him and saying it. Can we please keep this thread on topic. Also OutsideLookingIn, please learn a little about basketball before you go bashing people and also learn how to spell their names correctly. Most people would agree that us Amis boys had enough talent to be in the starting line-up. We all did end up playing at the college level if you can remember correctly. Now I am a student assistant at Moberly Area Community College and my brother is a Graduate Assistant at Marshall. My brother and cousin Jordan were both honorable mention All-State.

Get em
Jordan Amis turned out to be a pretty solid high school basketball player and Robert Paul Amis was a good role player. The other Amis boy (can't remember his name) wasn't as good but played hard.
Back to the thread! As 4 JP and the hire. Supers have the power to hire coaches without askin anyone so JP might have pissed a few off wit hiring Kevin Spurlock. Still good hire. JP knows basketball and loves the program.

lol that's Deron

and you failed to mention the great John Yancy Amis
Johnson said Perry was loaded and it may have been a great move for him to get to play with Cornett,Beverly,Pray, They still I believe will be second best to Hazard but I sure hope not. Remember the 14th region runs down by the combs road.

Some of us have 8-5 jobs and can't read through 8 pages of the same stuff. Also I was commenting on a post that was on the last page. Sorry if I made a post that had already been discussed unlike the 13 threads all talking about the same things. My bad!

I've always felt the same way about all this transfer stuff, let the kids go where ever they want and play, if they want to go somewhere the next year, let them go. Would save a lot of people so many headaches! It's all about the kids, let them decide where they want to play, not the adults!!

I agree with your views on transfers. If a kid isn't happy or can better their chances of recieving a scholarship, let them go!
^ yeah but going from 15th to 14th don't better his chances. Johnson is big in AAU and schools r goin to watch him later and not in the mountains.
Plus, is it fair for schools to give parents jobs/housing/phones/cars etc... just to get players. Perry needs to stop puttin so much money into these bball players and use that money to build a new football field. They could have saved tons of money last year and still lost in district. Hope Johnson ain't a waste of money.

Well the super as you call him might have the power to hire, but it is suppose to be thru the recommendation of the principal from the site base council, but I guess you guys do things different in Perry County. Sorry about the name Amis, spelling go nothing to do with talent and facts only politics.

haha he had a few good games before he quit junior year

They are already in the process of building a new football field. It will be up by the new Perry East on 80.
Although, it cant be proven,if anyone from PCC,including his current coach, approached Johnson about transferring, then they broke the rules. The problem being,of course, that it cannot be proven. This kid will be eligible. The KHSAA will, probably, rule him ineligible, initially. However, the appeals judge will recommend he be eligible because of the move and Tackett will relent and, ultimately, rule him eligible. Just like Jaysean, last year. It isn't what you know, it is what you can prove.

HAZARD – The Perry County Board of Education has called a special meeting for Wednesday, September 12 to consider whether or not to terminate Superintendent John Paul Amis’s contract.

The notice and agenda for the meeting were released to the Herald Monday morning, with Supt. Amis’s contract being the only business item listed. Amis was hired by the board in the 1990s, and last year was named Superintendent of the Year by the Kentucky School Board Association. His current contract runs through 2016.

The agenda notes that the board will consider the issue pursuant to Kentucky Revised Statute 160.350(3), which states that the board must have at least a four vote majority to terminate the contract, along with approval by the Kentucky Commissioner of Education. If the board votes to terminate Mr. Amis’s contract, Education Commissioner Terry Holliday will have 30 days to issue a decision.

Board Chairman John C. Combs confirmed on Monday that the board would be meeting to “discuss and figure out if we’re going to terminate the contract of Mr. Amis.”

Combs declined to talk in detail or list what specific issues brought about the meeting, adding that he would wait to discuss it with the rest of the board on Wednesday.

“I’d just rather wait until they get up there and see what they’ve got to say,” Combs said. “It’s not a good feeling to have to go out here and terminate anybody.”

Superintendent Amis was not in his office Monday morning, and did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled for the board’s central office at 10 a.m.
A gift to you 14th and 15th region fans on your current struggles....

He is a joy to b around and kids flock to him because he is a great person. I don't know his oldest son very well but he his always been nice to me when I've been around him. JPA, his wife and kids are very good ppl, I hate to see anyone get bashed and I hope this don't turn into that.

I can't wait to see Pcc play. I don't know much about them but I know how Johnson plays. He can play anywhere on the floor.
Wow. JPA possibly getting the boot.
Wonder if it has anything with all the looks PCC is getting with the basketball team?
Do you know the name of this player from tenn.

Actually, you're one of my favorites in this place. And we are all jackasses in one way or another.

Hope ur right but I heard that the board had to give JPA a 30 day notice by law before they could do anything. I don't know if thats true or not...
