Bell County 21 Whitley County 14
#1
final.

Bell scores late to win the game
#2
Whitley shuts down Bell all night, but Bell puts up more points.

A stupid 4th down call in the second qtr may have costed us this game.
These are two very even teams.

I told you guys it would not be a blowout, and this was on logmountain.
Whitley had a chance to the very last second of this game.

Ill get some stats gathered.

Congrats Bell Co.

Closer than I thought it would, hard to beat the Bobcats on Log Mt. The Bobcats survive a scare and remain the King of the Mts.
#4
Sounds like this was a great game!

Great game. Bell O was awful tonight. Play calling was awful. Not taking away from Whitley.
#6
WOW!! Whitley what a game but Big win for Bell Co this builds confidence come playoff time.
#7
^^
Heard the same thing about WC from RIUTG!!! LOL

Congratulations on the win, Bell County...and great game for Whitley, too.
I was going to come to this game tonight, but had to work late.
Sounds like it was a barn burner!!
#8
I know in the first half Whitley had arround 50 yards of offense and Bell was just a few yards more.
Both defenses played very well tonight
#9
Good win Bell. Whitley Co nothing to hang ur heads about. It shows you are really good and will be good.
#10
Sounds like it was a hell of a game RIUTG, wish I could have made it down for this one.

It was.
It was pure smash mouth like the old days.

Glad to see Whitley compete well.
Im very proud of our kids tonight.
IMO, th eplay calling is what got us, our kids definitely showed up tonight.

I want you to know I'm not taking anything away from you guys. You guys look great. I'm just frustrated about our play calling.

Anyone else noticed that out of the mountain top ten, Whitley plays Bell, Harlan County, Somerset, Clay County, and scrimmaged Johnson Central...

Understood, but i believe many Bell County fans thought we were a joke due to the Russell County score, when in reality, Russell County, as i said was our toughest opponent of the regular season.

Whitley had horrible play calling themselves. We did do good at faking to Bryant.
#15
Hey 3A beat a 5A tonight. I had to say it. Wink
#16

I know because any time a 5A loses to a 3A even if there the self pronounced kings, its a big deal

I would think this is the tightest mountain game Bell has played since they last lost, even close thatn that Knox game.
#17
Kept up with this a little, sounded like a real battle. Congrats to Bell on the win and to Whitley on the nice comeback. Mills is going to be a monster.
#18
Bells game plan on defense was obvious, stop bryant no matter the cost, and Whitley finally started expoliting that in the 3rd qtr, but it should have been done much earlier.
#19
congrats to Bell

Whitley is for real, I expect a long playoff run from the Colonels. The Russell Co. score is kind of deceiving as Whitley had 450 yards of offense in that game, but had problems finishing drives. Also, as you said, Russell Co. is very good.
#21
Much, much closer than expected. Probably a win/win for both teams. Definitely a game Whitley can build confidence from moving forward, and with Bell's schedule they probably needed a physical team that could squar eup with them toe to toe.

That score was definitely decieving as it was 28-14 last in the third with Whitley driving, but tonight was one of them games that players wish they could redo for life.

In the update thread i stated we had to stop bell on that last drive they scored or the game would be over and it was.
If we had even a decent passing game, this one would have been ours.
#23
Does Bell lose another game until the playoffs?
#24
just got back from the game... Whitley county has a really good team... having a freshman qb really hurt us tonight... we had no passing game just a short quick pass that whitley figured out quickly.. so we had to power the football all night and whitley has a nice defense and held us down a bit we had just enough fire power to pull it out... Congrats to the bobcats on a hard fought win and i would like to wish whitley county good luck the rest of the season.. you guys do have a fine football team..
#25
As i stated in the prediction thread, i thought we'd have a good shot at flustering the young qb tonight, and we did. I only saw one or two passes to Green all night and the rest was pure smash mouth.

Im going to get ahold of these stats soon. They didnt say them on the radio as they usually do.

I don't know, harlan county will be really tough team but we will have to wait and see..
#27
Bell and Whitley is always a good game.
#28
whitley you all have made me give you respects:notbad:
#29
I don't usually believe in moral victories but this one gets real close for Whitley. I don't care about the number of A's. Bell is a big favorite in this one and only pulls it out by the skin of their teeth.

Still, gotta tip your hat to Bell for finding a way to win when it came down to brass tacks. Nice job Bell.
