Just like they "HAD NO SHOT" at Perry last year when Perry was ranked #7 in the state and had, supposedly, the BEST player in PCC history???

Nobody is downing the kid. The problem is the process that allows these kids to move for purely athletic reasons from school to school, and rules that are applied very arbitrarily. The kid is just a symptom of a much larger disease.

I do feel bad for SC, but the nature of the coaching positions is to move to the top as quick as you can. This was an excellent opportunity for Spurlock, one that may not have came around for another ten years! Do u blame him! It is the best overall program in Eastern Ky for the most part. I know they haven't won state championships, but year in and year out, they are always competitive. Where else can u go and compete for a regional title every single year, get ur grades given to u, and get ur ACT score up, lol? jK...I really just went ahead and stated that before someone else did the trash talking, lol.Al Holland DID NOT, I repeat, DID NOT, call ANYONE about the coaching vacancy at PCC!!! Too much " water has gone under that bridge", so that statement is completely false!! Shame on you!!!

No one thought that Buckhorn "HAD NO SHOT" last year. You would have to be very naive to believe that Buckhorn couldn't have won that game. You would have to be even more naive to believe that anyone with any sense thought that Buckhorn has no shot.

Let me say it this way, You are 100%, I repeat, 100% wrong because he did call about the job to one of the board members. That is fact. Shame on you because this cat does not, I repeat, does not post ANY false info. Peace be among you, Brother Ballstar. Lol, just had to put that last part in.

It just so happens that Johnson is the top player in all of Eastern Kentucky and he is now a Commodore. I know Hazard would of loved to of had him enroll up there. I dont have nothing against Martin County, but where would you rather live? Hazard or Inez? Thats pretty much a no brainer. Especially if you are a really good athlete. Hazard isnt paradise but its a lot closer to larger cities and they are basketball crazy there. Glad to have you JJ. And this is the highpoint in a lot of peoples lives. High School sports mean a lot.
A few tiny differences here! Justice brought his own family with him not someone elses and he was an 8th grader and hadn't established his eligibility yet,not defending it just stateing the facts. The move to Hazard from Inez a major change??? What is their Wal Mart a super Wal Mart and Inez a regular wal Mart...C'mon it's not like this was a move to a metropolis for the betterment of their family,it is without a doubt a move for athletic purposes but good luck trying to prove it!

Ballstar, you DO NOT KNOW what you're talking about. Al Holland wouldn't wipe his behind on anyone or anything at PCC, and besides he wouldnt have to call a board member..he has an inside source that makes him aware of what's happening..just saying

Have lost a great deal of respect for Spurlock. If the facts get to KHSAA, no way is he eligible. The coach costs the kid his junior year for his own gain. When a coach puts his ambition above a kid, he is in wrong profesion. This is too big a risk for Justin for Spurlock to have allowed it.
09-06-2012, 11:13 AM
I have a hard time not believing that Spurlock didn't lead PCC to believe that they were a package deal.

Couldn't agree more. If this one goes through without a hitch... the KHSAA is a complete joke and might as well dissolve.

What can the KHSAA do when Justins family moved? NOTHING. God let the boy play, its not like he is getting paid or anything. He wanted to better himself by going to Perry and most parents want whats best for their kids. Loyalty doesnt get you nowhere in life.

As far as I know, the rule says if the parents move and it's a bonafide change of address, which it is, because the mom now works here in hazard, how in the world can they say the kid is ineligible? parents move, the kid has to move or stay and live with someone else in Inez, not going to happen! Argument over, nothing you can say about it!:ChairHit:

Is it going to be too big of a risk when he suits up and plays the first game of the season

Anyone else notice how easy it is for people to find jobs in Hazard and Perry Co. these days?

So he decided to go to a school whose test scores are so low the state took over to better his education ?

Everyone gets fired and takes 2 years off of work to draw unemployment so there is always plenty of jobs floating around.

Since when does "not athletic reasons" mean "academic reasons".
I could think of about 20 reasons for me and my kids to pack up and move - academics and athletics aren't the only two reasons that people relocate.

How does this move better him ? Educationally the schools are about the same and as far as basketball is concerned he already has multiple colleges interested in him.
09-06-2012, 12:09 PM
How does this better him? Are you serious???????????? Answers: Braxton Beverly and Dalton Cornett. State Championship. Its not time to worry about College yet. And probably more rally girls for Justin.

Better does not mean "State Championship good". It means better than Sheldon Clark. Perry Central is better than Sheldon Clark

Perry could win state. Especially with the 6'5 shooting guard that will be here next week from Italy.
