Might even not make it through the 1. PCC is a tough place to coach and don't know how well he will be accepted.
Is he bringing any assistants or are the ones already at Pcc going to be helping him? (Hoskins, Mullins, etc.) Just wondering

I have heard he will have Heston on the bench with him this yr.

They were just waiting to come up with a job for his wife.
My prediction is 1 and done for spurlock at pcc
His wife isn't leaving her job, shows how much everyone truly knows. Lol

Just shows how long he plans on staying, driving over an hour everyday and leaving his family where they are and not even moving them with him, what is up with that? Doesn't he have 2 girls that could play on a pretty good PCC girls team with a Hall Of Fame Coach?

I'm predicting 1 and done at pcc. Good guy but takes the love out of the game for some kids, he's a defensive freak. Offensively he struggles imo, he worries to much about ball movement to the point that players will be scared to take the open shot.

StrikeoutKing Wrote:Spurlock was upset at the Big Sandy News because at the time they reported the story, nothing had been announced, nor was it official. They reported a rumor as fact, as a story. IMO, that's poor journalism. Did things pan out one day later? Yes. But at the time, there were no facts stating he was the new coach at Perry Central.
I spoke with him a little bit ago, and he said Perry didn't officially offer him the job until yesterday. He had to meet with the administration at Sheldon Clark and work things out with them before committing to PCC.
The way I look at it. The Big Sandy News reported the truth! Where is he now? PCC!!!!!!!! Way to go BSN......you guys know the story before it happens!!!!!!!

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

Well if focusing on ball movement and being a defensive freak equals one and done...
explain to me how Hatcher made it 5 years and left on his own terms.

I look for Justin Johnson to show up any day now at Perry. I think Kevin Spurlock is a great coach but I think Shannon Hoskins, John Noble, or Kevin Campbell would be more deserving of the job. But then there wouldnt of been Justin Johnson coming if Shan, John, or Campbell got the job. Like one my best friends says all the time "It is what it is." Can I get an amen Ballstar?
08-31-2012, 12:06 PM
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on Justin to show up there.

Beverly was wanting Spurlock at the football game last Friday night but their are a lot of unhappy commadore fans who wanted Fugate or Hoskins, To me its a bad hire I have nothin against Spurlock but if your Perry,Cent Fugate should have been contacted and Hoskins should have been considered, just my thoughts.

From what I can tell Fugate was contacted and Hoskins was considered but they weren't going to be offered until after justice and spurlock turned the job down.

Raymond should have took the job, I guess the money KCC is dishing out is enough to keep him off the sidelines.

Best I can tell is that Raymond wants to stuff his son's stats and that is his top priority. The Canadian's come to East Ridge and they packed up and headed to Knott County. They also turned down an invitation to be on the same AAU team as Braxton Beverly. Winning isn't his main motivation.

I was told this afternoon the the Johnson kid will enroll next week at Perry probably Tuesday and a very good 8th grader will also be moving to Perry,Co and will probably play on the highschool team also thats from a good source.

Also heard from a good souce that Rhodes at Cordia may have been the next choice at Perry. Coach Cal called wanting them to hire Rhodes he has a 6-9 guy from senigal that is from what im told a major D1 player and a 6-8 guy from New Jersey. This regional this year is starting to shape up as being one of the top 5 in the state for 2012 and 2013.

I feel sorry for the players at SC. Leaving a program in August is a selfish act.
08-31-2012, 06:04 PM
^ lol Hatcher left in August.. Which started everything.. Perry is a top program a big school with a lot of money.. If the job came open in Oct many coaches would still jump at it.
