I think everyone knew this was coming. Even when we contacted people earlier this week about the opening all the signs pointed. Yet, I maintain it was wrong to post or link a player/coach combo move to a school before it happened. It's one thing to speculate, it's another to post false rumors about children.

Nevertheless, good luck to the Spurlock/Perry Central marriage and good luck to any media that try to get the facts from him and report it "straight up" in the future.

It doesn't matter what they say... They were WRONG... It was not official when they reported it... it wasn't official until yesterday.

Look at the "hazard" fans getting defensive when even mentioning Beverly leaving.

I don't see this working out for either party(PCC/Spurlock).Spurlock is a good coach but he is set in his ways and the perry faithful are just as hard headed as he is. I would be surprised if he was there more than 2 years. But, PCC in my opinion is the best job in eastern kentucky and one of the top 10 in the state and like I said KS is a good coach so if they can co-exist then I will be wrong and PCC will have a ton of success.

So, is the kid planning on going too? Even if he moves, how can this be perceived as anything other than athletically motivated?

The Johnson kid isnt coming.

Feel free to brush this off if you want. Word is that the Johnson kid will move to Perry County after basketball season and finish the school year out at Perry. He will play for SC this year

No truth to this!!!!!!! The word you are getting is wrong.

ah boys...

Who the hell is word anyway? He's seldom right.

Now, Rumor, you can take that sumbuck to the bank.
#54
I still stand by the opinion that if coaches would just stay off of social media, they would be better off than opening the door for scrutiny. But they can't help themselves. It's ochocinco-itis.

Spurlock is just mad because he told someone and they let it slip. It's his fault.
#56
Spurlock was upset at the Big Sandy News because at the time they reported the story, nothing had been announced, nor was it official. They reported a rumor as fact, as a story. IMO, that's poor journalism. Did things pan out one day later? Yes. But at the time, there were no facts stating he was the new coach at Perry Central.
I spoke with him a little bit ago, and he said Perry didn't officially offer him the job until yesterday. He had to meet with the administration at Sheldon Clark and work things out with them before committing to PCC.

Until Johnson has left SC, this crap needs to be put away. I said the WORD he had gottn was wrong. Now say what you want about Spurlock, he is a grown man. I would prob leave a 16 yr old kids name out of this thread. He has no control over what his coach does or what parents do.
#58
I can see why Spurlock would be upset for the report in the Big Sandy. Thats stupid to report something b4 it happens. I would be pissed if I took the job or didnt. Just stupid on their part.

I meant Johnson lol. Sorry for the confusion.

people are going after the Big Sandy News for breaking a story 24 hours before it becomes official....to me thats great journalism... if spurlock was concerned he should have came out and been open with it ... everybody knew he was gonna take the job last week. that was the worst kept secret ever. They were just waiting to come up with a job for his wife.
My prediction is 1 and done for spurlock at pcc
