It's nice for your team to be in the Top 10, but the bottom line is all you need to do is worrying about outlasting everyone else come playoff time.

On a side note, how many TD's would #10 JC beat #6 Williamsburg by? I'd say 48-20

Last season,it seems to me,that it took Hazard at least a week or two to break into the Mountain top ten and Williamsburg makes it in at the 6th spot above a team that beat them in a scrimmage. I don't see it. I guarantee they play the weakest schedule in the top ten.

LOL, I agree Williamsburg has proving to do before they deserve to be in the Top 10!! I know that every other team in this Top 10 is 3-4 TDs better than them. There are several teams that could make an argument to be in the Top Ten but, if any 1A team deserves to be in the Top 10, it is Hazard!

I agree with Hazard,they were state champs. Williamsburg beat a injury riddled harlan team pretty good and leslie co. but thats it. They play a weak schedule even for a 1A team. Is there anyone that can make a good case for the Jackets being in the mountain top ten? Lets hear it.

The list is a great list considering no one has kicked off yet

Williamsburg? I would put them as my number 2 team if you had a Class A moutain top 10. They will have a great year and should along with Harlan challenge Hazard, but they should not be that high on the mountain top 10 list.

I dont know bout #6 but I'm assuming Williamsburg is so high from what all they return,which is almost everyone from last season. Of course, Johnson Central could beat Williamsburg by 3-4 TDs as they should, any 5A school should beat a 1A by that much. However, I dont believe Williamsburg should be 6th but I do believe they deserve a spot in be in the top 10.

BC is towards the top because of two words Richard Trent one of the best if not the best QB in the Mts. I think you could even argue that BC could be even higher on the list.

Overall, pretty good ranking to start the season IMO.

The one thing most of you are forgetting is the mountain top 10 is nothing more than a beauty contest.
Lets face it, we all know the smaller schools, such as williamsburg would get beaten by a lot of teams that arent even on the list, however, the mountain top 10 will go by records alone.
Its this way every single year. For example, if Whitley comes into there first game and loses to Russell County they will probably drop out of the top 10, even though its safe to say Russell County will be very, very good this year and might even challenge the likes of a Boyle, and or Lex Cath for that region.

Its a beauty contest plain and simple. If Knott County goes 10-0 and doesnt even play a team from KY but goes around finding 7th grade teams to play, they will be on the list.

As far as the real rankings....

The reports were oddly tight lipped after that scrimmage. Just an observation.
