NHL lockout...
#1
how long do u all think this will last
im not for sure but i think today would have been the day that the all start game would have been played...
#2
Your correct today was the day for the All-Star game. If you listen to what the fans say even in Canada not that many even care.

I think it will last until the first half of next season.

GO RED WINGS
#3
What's NHL??

#4
haha i didnt think this thread owuld get too many replies
lol
#5
I hate Hockey
#6
It will come back next season, how could it not?
#7
the sad part about this is some of the NHL's best players may not return
Sad to see them go out like this
#8
Barry Melrose just reported that he thinks it will be settled tonight or tomorrow. They really made some advances overnight. Had planned on ending the season today then tomorrow but it appears that might not be the case now.
#9
Yea you are correct they are planning on cancelling this years season unless they reach an agreement tonite and then tehy might see a 28 game season in the NHL but this is very very doubtful!
Who knows for sure when this will get settled
#10
I didn't think it would happen but Barry Melrose seems to think it will.

I would like to see my Red Wings get another cup.
#11
I have always liked the Red Wings for some reason...probably becasue i have faily in Detriot...but back to the lockout

The NHL made their last off today. It is a $42.5 Million dollar salary cap. They are giving the union untill 11 am to make their decision, if offer isnt met then the announcement that the season willl be cancelled would probably come 2 hours after...The players were wanting the cap to be around $52 Million...so we will just have to wait and see how the union reacts to this offer and soon we will know how this lockout is going to result
#12
Its official the season has been called for this year. Maybe it will return next year.
#13
yeap today it became official!
#14
Hmm
its a pity that this is happening.... i was looking forward to watching the Blue Jackets play
#15
Sure does make Sports Center go a lot smoother.
#16
im happy that the season is cancelled, but i feel sorry for die hard hockey fans
#17
seriously no one really cares about hockey and thats sad
#18
well its sad to see any sports season to get cancelled
and i dont watch hockey myself i just hate seeing such greats having to leave the game without getting to play another season...o well
#19
Don't forget the poor people that have been out of work all year that work at these stadiums and for the League.

These individuals will be the one's really hurt by this.
#20
yea you have got that right CatDawg
i hadnt really stopped to think about that
but its true...
#21
I'm sure they've had to think about it.
#22
its all due to greed
#23
im sure they have too
and thats pretty much what its due to..
two sides couldnt meet...which led to this
hurting many...
#24
this sport really doesnt appeal to most american fans, thats wut brings it down
#25
If more American fans watched then it would have ended before Xmas. But I really do think it's getting bigger here than in Canada the last few years. The Jr. Pro's and national teams have really picked it up against the powerhouses and can hold their own.
#26
you have a good point there CatDawg
#27
pretty bad point if u ask me
#28
What was bad about it?

NHL is now saying that they may have a solution in time to save the season after all. Stay tuned.
#29
they should use this time, and change the rules to open up the scoring
#30
there was something said about a 5 hr meeting that said there will be NHL this fall but it may not be NHL players playing in it!
im confused lol
