Do you all chew?
#31
Can't stand the stuff.
My father-in-law got cancer from it but he STILL does it.

judgementday Wrote:My father has chewed Red Man since my conception. He can't seem to live without it. I myself, have never been able to chew or dip.

Tried dipping twice and both times puked my guts out.

Give your dad a break, if i would have concieved you, i would have been doing much harder drugs :hilarious: jk

Spud6 Wrote:^Haha, I don't even chew and I can do the packing thing.

And why can't you chew fine cut?

I never really wanted to.
When you see a guy setting there flicking a can like 10 times before hes opening it, hes just being a dousch.
It literally takes one or two times of smacking it against your hand to pack it and make it easy to get a dip.

As for fine cut, i never could keep it packed in my lip. It would always get everywhere. Long cut is much easier to use IMO.
Im a fan of pouches now. Much easier, and quite frankly cleaner.

Pouches is what dad chews and long cut sometimes. When he first started, his skin inside his mouth where he kept the chew started to peel. Did you all have this?

Never had that problem.
It would get raw sometimes for me, but never peeled.
It affects people in different ways.
Ive heard horror stories of people having to have there jaws removed to stories of old men who had chewed the harshest of stuff for 60 years and never had a thing wrong with them.

It's a scary habit to pick up.

It is, but IMHO smoking is 50 times more deadly than chewing.
#38
^Yes. But let me tell you what my dad always told me when i told him to stop his habit back when I was kid. He always told me ''Son you drinking that pop can give you cancer.''

You just have to know my dad to understand. He's tough, never seen him cry.

To be quite honest, pop and junk food is more danger ous IMO.
The obesity rates are really horrible and there are more people dying from diabetes than dipping.

My dads the same way. Tough old fart. Guys drank beer and chewed his whole life and he could outdo me on the farm any day of the week.

I don't care if he chews, that is his choice. He has chewed since being a teenager and now he is in his 70's and hasn't developed any problems from it so I am pretty sure he will never quit.

No.

As of July 9th I've been chewing snuff for 21 years. In that 21 years I said I was going to quit like 21 thousand times but never even start. I go through about a can a day and that is down from the past. I sat down and figured it up once and I thin I have spent about 20 something thousand bucks on snuff in my life lol. I still have all my teeth and everything and no cancer but I think it is about time for a change.:Shaking:

I switched over to pouches about a year ago.
Not only is it cleaner, I think it helps you try to quit.
Theres a big difference in snuff and pouches.

RunIt is absolutely right about everything in this thread.
I got my first chew when I was 18.. Im 25 now.. Made it all the way through highschool and decided I wanted to try it, so i did.

Grizzly wintergreen longcut is what I still chew today as well. My teeth are nice and white - After I chew I do either brush my teeth if I am at the house of course or gargle water to make sure I get all the baccer out of my teeth and mouth,
I actually know I can quit as well. I had quit when I had a job. I quit for like 3 months then I started back. It is definitely addictive but if you can go a day or two without it you:"ll be fine.

Fine cut, yeah Im not sure how people chew that crap.
