I was worried Sacre was going to go undrafted...
glad to see he finds a home in LA.
The front line took a hit when Odom left

What did everyone think of the Draft?

I think indiania gets a big F!

Did better than LA
LA hasn't drafted in the first round since 2009
They haven't drafted a starter since 2005 - Bynum
I'm pretty sure Bynum is the only player on the team drafted by them
06-29-2012, 03:51 AM
I think New Orleans, Houston & Portland had the best drafts.

You'll just love Orlando Johnson, guy is going to be a special player.

Why did the Miami Heat even draft? They did not pick up anyone that can help them
06-29-2012, 10:22 AM
The Bulls didn't even work out Marquis Teague, they were surprised he fell that far
06-29-2012, 10:31 AM
I am not surprised at all that the Kings took Thomas Robinson at #5. Zaga called it, but I never expected him to fall to #5. He was obviously upset in his post-draft interview that he went #5 and not higher. I hope he comes into the old Arco Arena with a fire in his gut.
He is a great man and a role model. The Kings DESPERATELY needed one in that locker room.
He isn't a good fit at all, but he was a steal at #5.

^I hope the Ma-GOOFs got a whole bucket of cash for Orlando Johnson. They needed an SF or a really big 2-guard to play the three as a long-range shooter.
I think Orlando is a good player but he obviously did not fit the Kings roster that is stacked with shooters. Could have tried to squeeze a future pick or a 3-man.
If the Kings traded for cash I hope they use it for something other than the Maloof brothers pockets. I cannot remember the last time they signed a legitimate free agent. (I like Chuck but let's be real.)

Congrats to all the Cats!! Glad to see Davis & Miller on the same team. Miller is one of my all time favorite Wildcats!! Hope he is in the league for years to come.

3 Cuse guys drafted.
Seems like 2 or 3 die-hard posters/uk fans said they didn't even have one NBA talent.

There were also guys from Croatia, D2 school, and lower that went.
They'll also be out of the league in a few years.

not to be a prick or anything but I don't think Melo will last long. A lot of Celtic fans on twitter didn't like the pick at all

^Why the D+ for the Kings? They got the best all-around player at #5. They did not have room for their 2nd round pick on the roster, so they traded it and got cash. At least a B-, unless you value Thomas Robinson differently than me.
Remember, T-Rob had 18 points and 17 rebounds in the NCAA title game against Davis and Jones, both who are 1st round NBA players now. In the 1st game against UK he only got 27 minutes but still had 12 points and 11 boards.
I obviously wanted Sac-Town to take MKG, but he didn't fall to them. T-Rob, IMO, is the 3rd best talent overall and the best all-around talent in the draft.
-------
I was just looking at his stats and they are mind-boggling. He did not have a bad game all year against top-flight competition. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketba...s-robinson

Guess its true when Bill Self said his team should have lost playing against a bunch of pros.
07-01-2012, 02:34 AM
He's a good kid. I like him. But is is a bad fit. They already have DeMarcus Cousins and they needed a true center or an actual small forward who could score. They needed to draft Harrison Barnes or Andre Drummond. I understand going away from Drummond because I don't think he would pan out in Sacramento but why not take Barnes? It makes a lot of sense. Robinson will hustle, rebound, defend, and score points for you but that team is not a great fit for him.
07-01-2012, 06:33 PM
^I agree, but my philosophy has always been that you draft who is the best available. The Thunder have three shoot-first players that need the ball to be effective. It works for them, lol.

Not sure. I know there going after Kirk Hinrich, Delonte West and Brandon Roy....They really want Roy.
07-01-2012, 09:07 PM
^ I wouldn't want any of the three.
07-01-2012, 09:15 PM
I would have Roy over the other 2. Even tho he had problems with his knees he had the same treatment that Alex Rodriguez and Kobe Bryant had and look how good they are
