John L. Smith
#1
Now interm coach at Arkansas. To quote Larry the Cable Guy "That's funny, I don't care who you are!!!!!"
#2
Almost as funny as watching WVU football.
#3
They gave Bobby Petrino's daddy the job. That's hilarious.

Come on UK, lets get Petrino, hes jobless and were coachless.

God no!

Why don't we just go and get Mumme back to go with Petrino. We could just call it "Liar, Liar".

So we have a coach restrict a player from transferring to virtually any school in the US, then we have a coach who is employed for four months, install a new system, and he can up and bail on that school and those players and absolutely nothing restricts him from doing so!

Thats a pretty good idea Dusty.
I think that would be a pretty good rule if in place.
It might have kept Saban from taking the bama job after going to the pros for the short time he was there and then coming back....

^ What?

All he did was make an observation though I'm sure he has plenty of ideas knocking around in that skull of his.
#9
you can remove the interm as Smith has been named the new head coach

John L. was a great coach. He really brought Louisville to another level, even though he might of left on a sour note(as did Bobby P). He'll do well at Arkansas.
#11
Arkansas has a chance to make a run at the SEC West, which could set them up for a shot at the national title. with the improvements Petrino's made, Arkansas needed a guy similar to Petrino's style, without the mistress
#12
i hope they lose every game ConfusedingleparConfusednicker:

I was listening to the Paul Finebolhm show earlier in the week on sirius radio and he said there were rumors that if Joker has another bad year UK was going after him. But then again you hear rumors about everything that are ridiculous. Who knows?

One can only hope.

Okay, so I have a few thoughts on this-
#1- Arkansas. Took two steps back- This is a team that should have won 10 or 11 games this season, will probably go 7-5, and be a perennial 6-6 team, like every other John L. Smith team in history.

#2- I despise Bobby Petrino probably more than all but a handful of coaches in all of NCAA sports. I seriously, SERIOUSLY have a problem with this guy. He is as classless as it gets when it comes to screwing his teams over, and thats why I love what Arkansas did to him, even though it did set the program back A TON.

#3- Even though I wouldnt want him in Tuscaloosa, Petrino can coach. I wont hold the fact that he's a first rate piece of shit that doesnt deserve the air he breathes against him when it comes to coaching. The guy can coach, and if you have a program thats seen better days, he is someone that can build it into a solid, tough, legitimate football team within a couple of seasons, and you will see improvement the very first game.

#4- IF Petrino ends up at Kentucky, UK will have the greasiest duo of college coaches in college history...Cal and Petrino will set records alright, and the NCAA will build their own police station in Lexington, lol..BUT, the football team will win though...

I would too. Reasoning is simple: Winning trumps losing. Big Grin
