Woah... Back up off Williams man.. he gives it his all when hes on that floor..and hes a shooting guard .. McCoy is the point.... and im quite sorry u didnt know that and another thing.. hes not that bad.. people have bad nights.. and last night was a bad night.. Williams is a great defensive player.. and can shoot the ball.. if he gets a look and even though for him being small he goes into the lane. trying to make something happen which is more than i can say for some guards.. and Paul deese! and aaron branham wat a show.. u would go to a game and be like wonder how many points they are gonna get and than they get 40 everyone is like wow hes good when u score 40 outta about 60 team points.. and ur shooting like 25% ur not great.. this year its about team ball not just one guy carrying a team.. McCoy Fletcher and Williams Carry this team the best to their ability and dont need anyone dogging on them.. just because they dont have superstar status around the region

actually he ran point last night on TV in the fourth quarter he was the one bringing the ball up the quart and McCoy was in the corner waiting for the three...And yes he does drive in the lane then throws up a shot with 3 men on him...He does not carry this team he has not shown me anything this year he needs to be coming off the bench...I belvie this would make ER better point blank thats my view and thats what im saying so get over it...Everyone i have talked to that is not from ER agrees...

Great win Pikeville, congrats Coach Williams!

Curtis Williams doesn't carry the team on his back. He is a good ball handler and drives the paint even though he is a small guy and for that I give him credit. He has been involved in basketball since he could walk and has worked hard to get where he is. As for carrying the team on his back for three years..there is no way in Hell, sorry. Before Deese, Branham, Spears, McCurry, BB, and MORE played THEIR asses off and worked as a team and won championships. Williams got some playing time but didn't make all the teams points and light a fire under the boys asses. He's a good player but not the backbone of the team. I love Curtis to death and wish him all the luck in the world but he's not carrying anyone on his back.

Just to clarify, the T was not the head coach it was on the Assistant. I was right behind the bench and I am a ER FAN, but I do not b;ame the ref for calling the T. You should heard what was said to him, and the amazing thing was that he was going to let it go, but the assistant would not stop. over all, i thought it was a well called game, and my team lost. Dont know if refs read this or not, but I want to say I am sorry to Mr. Davis for the bottle that was thrown at him. Any one that is willing to do that has no class at all.

ER played the scouting report that Pikeville would miss freethrows. Maybe they should have played the other part of the scouting report that Pikeville would blow a lead. IMO he should have before fouling that many times in the last 2 minutes. He never give Pikeville a chace to lose. Maybe the coaches at ER needs to look at the game tape again and see if they should do things different the next time they play.

I thought that ER had a heisman candidate? Was he sick (lol)?

I watched this game on TV. I was busy with the Globetrotters that night. From what I seen on the tube. Pikeville just outplayed East Ridge. I have heard the refs were a factor, but what I seen was East Ridge was in the game all the way up untill the end of it when they started fouling to early in the game. Pikeville hit there free throws and East Ridge got beat. I didnt see fouls being called in one way or the other. And as far as BigMike goes. Would it be something to brag about by beating Pikeville in your own gym? What is Pikevilles record now? Will you be bragging if you played David and beat them in your own gym?
01-16-2006, 02:22 PM
I was at the game frieday night,, as for officiating i have seen better,,but bballcrazee jus t incase u were wondering we did beat david about 100 points..lol! and when ever p-ville comes 2 the ridge oo what a game that will b..and we will b coming out w/ur heads up!

pikeville could be a sleeper team in this region believe it or not...
in every game they have played except against cov holmes, they have had fairly big lead in games (most notably belfry-12, mag.-11)...however pikeville loses games based on shot selection when they do lose...this is a huge sign of a young team...#11, #2, and #10 can all make shots at any time, but at the same time can ngo through spurts where they force shots at the wrong times...i think they will fix this problem as the season progresses and hopefully make some nooise in district play and hopefully compete in region
ive also never seen a crowd be so determental to a teams success...i think pikeville has had huge crowds at pike central and east ridge and they played out of their minds in both games...i hope the students continue to do their job...

I agree Mtn. It seems like when they get a lead in the first half, they try to play not to lose instead of playing to win. I also agree with what you said about the fan section. It is bad that they only show up in force during the big games instead of all the games. By the time tourney time rolls around, I am sure Coach Williams and gang will have them playing more like a older team than the young team they are at the moment.

LOL...the refs were horrible...but when Pikeville comes to ER iam already calling a win for the warriors at the point...as long as we dont have them refs again..and p-ville has that one boy i think his # is 23 or 25 one but idk....how old is he 20..lol...he has been playing for them for bout 5 years...lol

Very surprising, good win p-ville.

Personally I'm just happy that there is some excitement back in the Panther basketball program. They may not win many more games or make the regional tournament but IMO the program has hit the bottom and is on the way back up...at least I hope. Kids are going to want to come to Pikeville to play for Bart Williams and Todd May and with those 2 on the staff there should be some more kids at PHS that come out for the basketball team...that is huge IMO at Pikeville or for that case any class A school. Pikeville basketball is back on the rise and they will tough the next couple of years esp. if the continue to improve this season. Good luck to the Panthers...they could sneak up and surprise someone come tourney time.

That is no matter who plays there as long as ER is playing. I guess it is always a good called game in ER's eyes though, not anyone elses can see it as being good.

Looking at the scoreboard, it seems ER can ONLY win at HOME. what is there record on the road? I know he will come back that Pikeville only wins at home. But Pikeville isnt on here talking about how great they are. Pikevilles young team just want to play and learn from every game.
01-17-2006, 09:56 PM
bballfanonly- well prob cause ur from p-ville more than likely and uve never seen a good game called..and as for on the road we dont play 4 ur potential! but i think ur boys have been workin very hard ,,and we are doing better! so prep.
