Redskins: Smart or Dumb?
#1
Did they create a QB controversy or add depth.

I think it was a bad move adding Cousins to RG3.
#2
It's pretty obvious that there won't be a QB controversy unless RG3 is a complete bust...
.
#3
If RG3 starts slow, does he start looking over his shoulder and pressing things. I really like Cousins. Think he is a great QB. Strange draft for the skins.
#4
I actually am please with the pic. This will make RG3 work harder Know who is waiting in the wings. And if RG3 is a bust or get hurt. You have a quality QB ready to step in and take his place. When ever you spend a lot of money on a new shiny sports car. You gotta have good insurance in case something happens.

Really? Cousins is nothing more than a back-up QB! He would not be a starter in this league otherwise. He will be a credible back-up, thus will be his role in Washington.
#6
I like it
#7
Then why waste that high of a pick on someone you never expect to be more than a backup?
#8
^ It's the Redskins. Nuff said! Daniel Snyder makes Mike Brown look like a genius.
#9
Every team needs a solid back up qb, thats what cousins is
#10
While I agree every team needs a solid backup you don't use a 4th round pick to draft one. I actually think Cousins will someday be a starter in the NFL. With RG3 the Skins could have used that pick to put some more weapons around him. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me unless the Shanahans don't have full confidence in RG3 or they plan on using him as trade bait later.
#11
^ or Cousins as trade bait later
#12
My feeling on it is that if RGIII doesn't work out then they have Cousins, but if RGIII is everything they hope for then Cousins will make a good back up and down the road may even still have trade value.
#13
I thought it was pretty dirty.

That's what I said. Or at least what I meant.

I think he's going to back-up RG3 for 3 or 4 seasons, get a few starts because of random injuries, and end up getting a big deal from another team.

At least I hope that's what happens anyway. I've always liked Cousins...

What they done is was take a guy off the board that fell into their laps. Cousins can be a very good QB down the road and that is what they are banking on. not for them but for some team they can trade to later. Look at Cassel and the Patriots.

RG3 is a scramble away from being a Michael Vick: athletic QB who takes enough hits that keeps him out of five games per year. If that's the case, Coucins finds himself sitting pretty. Let's face it, Daniel Snyder jumps on and off bandwagons so quickly, in two years time, he may give up on RG3 if they are not in the playoffs

The Skins not making the playoffs won't be because of RG3, it will be because of Snyder. They have plenty of more holes to fill than just QB.

Be an avid lifetime Skins fan....I see why the move was made. It is a helluva backup plan that would save Snyder's ass if RG3 goes down with a major injury. With his elusive style, all it would take is one hit, like with any player, and then there goes your next 3 years of #1 draft picks and a second round..Drafting Cousins isn't a bad move IMO. If anything, it is nice trade bait because I think he is just as good as Tannehill. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS~
