Syracuse's Fab Melo ruled ineligible for NCAA Tourney

This just unfortunate! It could happen to anybody though. For all those laughing and making fun, why are you doing that? I mean sure he is failing a class or 2 but that isn't funny. The kid is unbelievable talent and just struggles in class. I mean Eric Bledsoe, you cant say anything or show me anything to convince me that he made his grades at UK and scored high enough on the ACT! He was just flat out dumb!

Umm, Can you show me anything that can convince me that Bledsoe did NOT make his grades and scored high enough on his ACT? If you can, then I will discredit the institution for lying to us, the NCAA and all the rest of the University of Kentucky students who were required to maintain their grades in order to keep their scholarships and remain eligible as students.

I want PROOF, not opinion. Please post below:please:

You could say the same thing about UofL or just about any school for that matter.

It is an unfortunate issue for Syracuse, whatever the reason behind his ineligibility is. I can understand him struggling with an English class. I know most here are aware that Melo is from Brazil, and how difficult it is to teach and learn English.

If that's the case, or even if it's something else, it's good that Syracuse is taking care of it before the NCAA did.

So it isn't funny to talk about a guy who has a history of making poor decisions and exhibiting a lack of responsibility, but it's ok to call an extremely poor kid from the south who did all the right things while in college 'dumb'? Fab Melo is dumb, Eric Bledsoe is a good kid.

Very true! Actually the players at both schools currently seem smart and make great grades, bledsoe didnt make the best of grades in High school, correct me if im wrong.

No I don't think he did. But he did what he had to do to stay eligible in his time at UK. I would say you can give the CATS program credit for that..

I'm not going to call him dumb though. There were some guys at UK and UofL when I was in college I swear would have suffocated if breathing were a voluntary function. A couple of them are now coaching which amazes me.

I was just using him as an example. I really think both groups are great in the class room. I think UL is like 3.25 average or something like that maybe. I very well may be wrong on that though. When you play sports in HS and College you are at an advantage I think in the class room, just my opinion though

Syracuse is a holy mess. The assistant coach scandal, drug testing mess and now this. If Melo isn't able to play in the NCAA's then how did he play in the Big East tourny? I swear, if this had been UK the NCAA would have already come down on them and the death penalty would be right around the corner.

You people are crazy if you think UNC Ash was only good enough for a 16 seed. They could easily beat teams like VCU,New Mexico,SDSU, Solid 5-12 teams...

Im not a syracuse fan, no way shape, form, or fashion. I do have respect for Jim B though. I dont see how you could say UK is better than Syracuse though based on the seasons they had. Same record. Syracuse played in a tougher conference. Uk did play UNC early on but it was @Rupp too. Syracuse is still a legit team. They nearly got beat yesterday but Melo being out has to hurt somewhat. Just take Davis off the floor for UK and you see what they are feeling like.

Well for one you could look at his HS grades...... For 2 I got a friend at UK that had a class with him and rarely ever turned in work and when he did it wasnt done right but yet he passed the class with flying colors. So thats my inside info. Do you honestly believe that he got those grades and got that high on the ACT?
