I hate to say it but Uk got screwed for an overall #1 seed.
#8
You can't tell me the committee doesn't screw around with the matchups. UK gets either WKU or the Sean Woods led MVS. That's no coincidence.
#9
Seems like UK always gets screwed come Tournament time! Glad to see that Murray State will be playing in Louisville!

Although I don't like that Uk could get UCONN in the 3rd round I love that they could get Indiana in the sweet 16. UNLV scares me.
#15
Indiana...AND dUKe in our bracket...WOW!

That being said, one game at a time...
#16
If Baylor plays their A game, Duke will never have a chance to think about UK.

Dick Vitale: "I don't think the NCAA selection committee did the overall #1 seed ANY favors by giving them probably the toughest overall bracket."

When he says that, you know it's true.

Wow, do people really think the South is a tough bracket??? Seriously! I saw posts that said UK got screwed??????? I'll take these match-ups in a heartbeat! Is anyone seriously threatened by WKU??? I think UConn is better than a 9 seed, but they are not a match-up that I was worried about. And IU, does anyone possibly think that IU can win a game outside of Bloomington??? dUKe is the match-up that I wanted! This dUKe team cannot possibly match-up with UK's athletes, thus the only possible way that dUKe could beat the Cats is from the outside - BUT - isn't that the case with virtually EVERY team in the tournament???

There is no way that this is the toughest bracket, no way at all! Bottomline, UK plays with purpose, hits their shots, defends like they are supposed to, they are in the Final Four! If they let any of those things slip by, they could lose to any team in the field! This could not have been any better if you are a UK fan!

C'mon! Seriously! LOL, No freaking way!

Hands down, Syracuse has the toughest bracket! It's not even close!

Is this a case of us wearing our Blue Covered glasses and feeling the WORLD is out to get us???
#21
Syracuse does have a tough bracket but Michigan State got the easiest overall bracket. Obviously they have a #2 that should be a #1, but still.

Everyone said they wanted dUKe and now that their in our Bracket, we have the hardest? This is what we asked for

Great minds think alike:biggrin: I agree 100%, UK is in an easy region. UK will not have a matchup problem until the Final 4 against Michigan St. if both make it that far.

Anyone that says the Committee doesn't look at matchups is crazy. UCONN in the second round is the one that scares me. I love the idea UK could get Indiana and Duke but I think UNLV comes out of that side.
#25
2 more thoughts.

1. I think Louisville could be in trouble against Davidson.

2. A Florida/Missouri game in the second round could be the game of the tournament.
#26
I like it.
Does anyone remember 96?
2 losses in the season. One to a non conference (umass) and in the sec tourney championship (Miss st.)

We went on to dominate that tournament.

Ill take a NCAA championship over and SEC tourney title any day of the week.

I personally love this bracket.
It seems teams playing nobodys are more likely to lose to the nobody (see Kansas/N iowa) plus you dont want a team that hasnt been challenged going into the final four without a tough game.

I hope we get WKU, Uconn, indiana, dUKe, mich st. and syracuse.

  • In its first game — the NCAA ridiculously calls it the second round — UK would have to beat either Western Kentucky, which rebounded from a 5-14 record to win the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, or Mississippi Valley, which is coached by former UK guard Sean Woods and has won 20 of its last 21 games.
  • In the second game, or third round, UK might have to play Iowa State, which has Royce White, the former Minnesota signee who nearly came to Kentucky after being kicked off the Gophers by Tubby Smith.
  • Or, in the second game, Kentucky might have to play Connecticut, the defending national champ which beat Kentucky twice a year ago.
  • In the Sweet 16, Kentucky could have to play Indiana, the only team to beat UK this season.
  • Or, in the Sweet 16, Kentucky might have to play Wichita State, which is ranked as the 10th best team in the country by Ken Pomeroy.
  • In the Elite Eight, Kentucky might have to play No. 2 seed Duke, which 20 years ago beat the Cats on the most famous shot in the history of college basketball in what may have been the greatest game in the history of college basketball.

Vanderbilt's only SEC Tournament championship was 1951! You know who they beat? Guess who the NCAA Champion was that year???
