Who ya got?
Knott has defeated Letcher twice this season, but is obviously not playing well to date... small gym, huge crowd. What happens?

Let's see, I think the 3rd time is the charm for Letcher. They have been playing well the last few games and are ready to make a run at this region title. I'm going with the mild upset in this one. Letcher plays great defense, they just need to be able to finish off with free throws at the end this time. The first two games they could not hit the free ones and it cost them. Should be a very physical game, just hope it doesn't get out of hand. Seems like it always does when the tourney is at Jenkins. Guess the big crowds and small gym just makes everyone crazy! Good luck to both teams in this one and in the region.

Letcher has the length and the physicality ( is that a word?) to get this done. Not a bad trip for me to Jenkins, looks like I got a date for Saturday night. Wild and Wooly 14th region postseason continues. Don't want to lose and draw a winner first round, but on the other hand, every team is pretty Dang good, so does it really matter??? I'm sure right about now Perry would be happy to be getting in as a loser..

I like the post, I just don't remember it ever getting out of hand at Jenkins. I have seen riots at Powell County and Randy Napier getting tackled at Perry Central, fan fight fest at Breathitt County a few years ago, but have no recollection of controversy at Jenkins. One thing is that gym holds more then Leslie, although it is still a small gym.

I am also taking Knott in a close one.. Hopefully this gets the team back on track!

I'm choosing KCC, too. I don't think the margin will be more than 6; depending on the free throws, as D1Recruiter said.
Free throws are so important in a game!!

Will all LCC players be eligble for this game? Heard in courthouse yesterday that at least one player was in truancy court for missing 58 days of school. If this is true, how can he still be playing?

Truancy cases are confidential. If someone at the courthouse told you that, they should be fired regardless of if it's true or not. Unless of course you know because you work in the system. In that case, you should be fired for posting it on here.

Can you spot the connection?
Riots at Powell County - Perry Central vs Hazard
Randy Napier getting tackled at Perry Central - Perry Central vs Hazard
Fan fight fest at Breathitt County a few years ago - Perry Central vs Wolfe County
You can't take those kids anywhere lol

LCC by 6.

I did not say that a court official told me this nor am I employed by the school board. This is a rumor that has been circulating. But if true how can one still be playing?

Let's keep quite about the players who are not coming to school, failing all their classes or can't pass a drug test. The most important thing right now is getting in the regionals. Let the colleges that give these kids scolarships deal with the problems!

Was just thinking back to the old JBS days when the Stepps went nuts over there on people and the refs didn't call too much. Could have the same thing happen in this one and it will be a crazy night in Jenkins again.

Damn you guys are too young. In regards to the riots at Powell County that was not what I was referring to. There was no riot between Perry and Hazard. I am talking about in 2003 when Breathitt and Powell got into it. That was a real war. Bodies and fists flying everywhere. People getting arrested. 13th Region officials. That was a RIOT.

I think I remember that....
was it the same year Perry lost to Powell?
But there were definitely riots in Powell 3 years ago lol

The riot at Powell was actually Breahitt/Powell.. the fans actually rushed the floor and fought.
It must have been around 2003..2002.

Perry played the early game that night and I left when Breathitt was up by 20+ in the first half.
By the time I got in the car and turned the radio on the fight was on...
I didn't get to see it.
But I remember it now.
Powell came back and won and I remember Perry getting S-C-R-E-W-E-D in the finals.
However, that was me when I was actually in school so I'm sure I would have thought we got screwed no matter how we lost.

I look for this to be a great game! It's tough to beat a team three times in the same season and I think that Letcher Central can win this one. Letcher wins by 2 in regulation if, the game goes into overtime I think Knott Central squeaks it out.

I will have to partially agree with you. The semifinals and finals was a screwfest all the way around. I thought Whitesburg got screwed against Perry Central in the first semifinal game. Breathitt got screwed against Powell in the second semifinal game. Perry got screwed in the championship game. The concession stand would have made a fortune selling Vaseline during that tournament. Ole yeah, 13th region officials. Thank goodness most of those guys have retired or been retired.
