To say Johnson was intimidated is just plan silly come on now

Johnson and chase parsley balled out tonight. Took alot of pressure of Moore while his ankle is healing. I like the way Johnson come out an the energy he brought to the game. Sc took control after the dunk and tiller didnt get near as aggressive as thought he would have with the game coming down to the wire. Pville played a heck of a game I'll give them that.

mr.charlie hustle Wrote:I have never seen Daniel's or Johnson play the game of basketball. Some observations regarding the matter: From reading the posts, as well the the local newspapers for what thats worth, Johnson is a very nice player with a great deal of potential.Daniel's is obviously going to be a nice player as well. Being an 8th grader on the floor and productive in the process speaks to this situation. For the record Johnson is appreciated in the 57th for sure (many positive comments and nice stats),the 15th and to a large degree much of E-Ky.This eval .comes from most who post on here.Daniels is an excellent athlete and will make a huge noise in whatever sport he suits up in. There is no need to defend either kid for they do that themselves quite nicely, with their performances on game night. Now as to some of the poster brothers;some spout expertise in a number of areas, Two of the brothers togather have been liked twice in two posts and have posted a little over a hundred, cumulatively. I'm betting that both basketball players have better stats. than that. We have another brother who evidently works with the Bureau of Vital Statitics or perhaps the IRS. To know the ages and dates of all players is quite an accomplishment. Man ain't life with sports great.

lol, what??

At least 2 of the 8th graders are hold backs. I don't know if Trimble is or not.

Congrats Cards. Good effort Tigers.

TigerBlues Wrote:Johnson is a good player but 19 points isn't amazing for a player that was guarded by an eighth grader and was IMO INTIMIDATED by his physical tone and effort. Good thing he had the down and up screen to free him or he may have been in the wall and would have had a handful after that moment. Case in point was the malicious foul he comitted and he(johnson) was then held back by his teammates. 6'7" vs 6'0" not an amazing night for potential D-1 prospect, the kid had 8 and Trimble had 8 as well in the paint.

He wasn't intimidated lol. If anything it was the bull crap charge calls he go in the first half when his defenders kept flopping because it was the only way they could guard him.

Well, I wasn't disappointed. This thread has been as entertaining as I expected. I can't help wondering how many of you are acquainted with this guy:

What did this have to do with anything concerning the game last nigh?

I think with some of the posts on here, some were his customers.

Johnson had 19 and 14 in a game where his team scored 53 points and he sat most of the 2nd quarter. Pretty impressive performance in the district tourney if you ask me.

This difference in this one was the star players stepping up for SC. It seems like Tiller doesn't show up in big games or against good teams this year. The Tigers role players all played very solid games but an average game by Tiller hurt the Tigers chances to hang around late in the game.

Congrats Cardinals!

Go back and read the following posts and perhaps you can understand the rather "catty" remarks in mine. #s 44,48,49,51,56 and 57. While you are on your trip look "under the table" as I did not fully understand that one. The realistic truth is that this was a very good game played by a young bunch of Tigers trying to comeback from an awful season against a cardinal team that might very well be the best team in the region. On the wings of this game were a bunch on both sides who seem to want to gain attention by spouting their expertise over a seemingly unsensored forum. Now Vun I hope that clears my post to some extent.Just trying to have a little fun with those doing the same.

Couldnt be more proud of the TIGERS tonight. Very impressive especially with such young talent. They worked very hard and almost pulled off an upset. Trimble and Daniels stepped up to the plate and Tiller played very unselfish, however he probably should have taken a little more control and been the leader. He passed up few shots that he should have taken. The next four years look to be very promising. I do think johnson should have received a T for his actions after his dunk. The neck slashing was uncalled for. Johnson actually had some fouls that were not called on him but oh well i guess that's how the ball rolls.

On another note, heard the chaffins kid from lawrence county is coming to paintsville next year. Anyone know if theres any truth to this rumor?

Kash Daniel is NOT a hold back. True 8th grader. Yes, Trimble and Miller are. Just like just about every other kid in the 57th/15th.

"OR" does everybody key upon him so heavily that some of the other younger players may look just a tad better than they are at this point in time? Whole different world when you have 2 or 3 dogs on your trail a whole game. Put the others in his shoes and see how it turns out.

The cards played a really good game. All of them stepped up and played a great game. Kirk hustled on both ends of the court and done a great job of rebounding. Chase Parsley stepped up and took alot of pressure off of Moore and his ankle. Rice off of the bench played a great game, he is always a hustler. Johnson of course had a great game, 19 pts and 14 rebounds speaks for itself. Good luck next game!!

If you are suggesting putting any other on Paintsville in his shoes then it isn't possible because they are 14 and 15 year old kids compared to an 18 year old man. However, Trimble, Daniels, Ratliff, and Miller have all held their own for being the age they are. Naturally other teams will key on Tiller because he is Paintsville's best player by far but that's the nature of the beast. If you wanna claim to be an elite player then you've got to assume that role and overcome adversity (SC's Johnson did it).

You cant even begin to compare the two scenerios. In my opinion Tiller is not a great basketball player, but he is a super athlete, and that is good enough in the 15th to garner the attention of 2-3 defensive players every time he touches the ball. Even if you dont have two men guarding him, the rest of the opposing defense has to shift to counter him taking it to the hole just about any time he wants to. He automaticly frees someone up every time. There is not one true consistant outside shooter in the bunch that can create off the dribble and can command a whole lot of attention. Collins is a very good spot up shooter though. Whole different scenerio with SC just because of Moore if nothing else.

That's funny moof, I didn't see him post the eighth grader and dunk on him. I saw back screen dunks and the really nice tip jam but to say taking charges was the only way to guard him is nuts. Six points on dunks leaves 13 points left. Don't know how many of the 13 were freethrows maybe OTH can tell us but to say he was unstoppable or the illusion of it doesn't work.

Congrats to SC! Look forward to watching them play in the regional tourney.

Well back screens are called running an offense. Wasn't saying he was unstoppable, I was just trying to make a point that he didn't post as hard or as aggressive due to the way the game was officiated. His first two fouls were charge calls that were iffy. That changed the way he played. As far as Paintsville goes, I am not taking anything away from them. They had a great game plan and played hard. When they got down, they had to change their game plan. They are young and play hard and should be good for years to come. Can't knock Justin for dunking off of back screens though. Still had to make the plays.

Please remember that these young men read these posts. They are young men despite their age. Age does not make a man. Please everyone when posting Ask yourself if this was my child would I want to read this or have him read this about himself, Again this is high school ball. Some of these boys read this feelings get hurt over adults statements that should and before internet would have never been said where the boys could hear.
