aight....I went to JC and the Apple Bowl was always something to look forward to..But Pville is 1A and Central is a big 3A..They should win every year. It should be one of the easiest games on the schedule....So to brag about it and make yourself feel good about it is pathetic.....Pville is a good team, but they should never compete with a 3A team.

Well I have to say the biggest rival has to be with ER and SV. Or SV and PCC but now it is probably LCC. SV handed the game right to them late in the 4th quarter and they came back and scored. But IMO i think that Jenkins and Betsey Lane and something going on. lol

i agree pville is a good team and shouldnt be made to play a 3a team its to easy of a win. Sf beat Betsy lane 50ish to 7.betsy lane only scored on the freshman with their Jv or V i dont remember but it was a trashing to remember for south floyd!

That's a good point bub, but this a a RIVALRY game, one of the biggest in EKY, neither team should win by large of a margin, I don't see Boyle ever beating Danville that bad (probably not a good example considering they both won like 10 state titles in a row the same years in their respective class, lol), but still, when we played it wasn't like that, both schools understood the rivalry and what the game meant, I just don't think that the Tigers' hearts have been in it the last couple years with the exeption of a few players. When I played it was a knockdown dragout EVERY year, even when Bill Musick was there, I believe the most either team won by was 15 and that was my senior year in the 2002 Apple Bowl, JC beat us by 12 in the 2000 event. Honestly, I don't see next years Apple Bowl being like it use to in the "Good Ole Days" when you never knew who was gonna pull it out, but then again I have been wrong before, I did pick Paintsville to win the Apple Bowl this past year, lol, boy was I wrong.

This past year was a good game up until the half, then it was lights out. I don't think it was necessarily some of the players. Although the offensive line did look very weak that game, JC exploited every weakness upfront that Paintsville had. You have to look at the play that set up Paintsville's lone score, you have a smaller inexperience CB 1 on 1 vs. Kevin Williams. The play was ran once, and when it worked JC adjusted. I think if it would have been ran a little more often, such as earlier in the game. That's not here nor there now, the team as a whole including the staff wasn't on the same page for one reason or another. I'm not sure what to make of next years game, it maybe a Good Ole Days but then again it could be a blowout. I know it definitely won't feel like the Apple Bowl being played 2 weeks before the Apple Day.

Why do we play? Maybe because it's one of the biggest rivalries in EKY. Hell, I think that even though we got the hell beaten out of us the past two years it was still by far the funnest game. The place is always packed and it is a very intense atmosphere. But, I think the "good ole' days" of the Apple Bowl are gone too... Which sucks! And all of the people on here who have played in the Apple Bowl can tell you that the night before is so **** fun! And the top 10 list is also very interesting every year haha. I haven't won one yet but, I can't wait til' I do because I'll bet it makes the festival a hell of a lot more interesting... This might just be a rumor but, I heard there will be no Apple Bowl next year! Does anyone have any information on that one? (I hope it's not true!!!)

Vandalism nothing, egging use to be the least of your worries. Being paintballed not in a vehicle or your house, yourself. I think it was about 4 or 5 years ago within the same Apple Bowl festivities. Someone set a blaze to Paintsville's practice dummies and sleds. Johnson Central's head coach lived in an apt. in town and someone set fire to the wheel on his truck which was below the gas tank from what I heard. School administration and police have enforced and assured safety since these incidents. Which must be applauded, I think it needed to be watched more carefully. To answer your question about next year's Apple Bowl, there will be an Apple Bowl just two weeks before the Apple Festival. So I'm assuming both schools will be playing someone different during the week of the Apple Festival. This is just what I've heard, and I'm not 100% sure it's true.

Man, that really blows... It won't be the same! But, that beats the hell out of not having one! Didn't something happen where we burnt some obsene things in there field once too? I know that the pigs have also been lat out several times (I took place in one of them lol)... And over by our weight room spray-painted pavement it says "JCHS RULES"...

The 2001 Apple Bowl Vandalisms were by far the best. Someone burned our new 5 man sled, spray painted the school, egged and paintballed vehicles. So some of our students dumped trash all over JC's field, burned PHS onto the field with gas, spray painted JC's locker room. Then ofcourse the famous "Top 10" lists, they were hilarious that year, by both schools, I'll never forget those. The vandalisms were so bad that year that WSAZ and WYMT both had a big story about it, it was crazy. All I know is that it's a good thing security was GREAT the next year, couldn't do anything which was a good thing for JC, I know a couple pville boys who set out with their deer rifles, they were goin pig huntin, but the police were EVERYWHERE at both JC and PVille. I know that sounds pretty bad, but how funny would that have been on the news, "JC's FFA Pigs shot and killed by PHS students leading up to the annual Apple Bowl". I am glad it didn't happen though, if them boys woulda got caught, they would have been in DEEP SHAT.

Oh man, it was hilarious to me. I mean yeah, i was all about us getting revenge after our sled got burned just because I didn't want JC gettin the best of us in the "Prank War" I guess you could say, BUT, boy was I happy about the sled getting burned, cause I never had to hit and drive that darned thing ever again, lol.
