The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Thielemann had 39 tackles and was a big-time run stopper with his size and strength.
Coach Larry French said his success came because of his high motor and âjust wanting to get the job done.â Thielemann was a two-year defensive-line starter.
âWe couldnât let him go many times against our No. 1 offense (in practice), or we wouldnât have gotten anything done,â French said. âWe couldnât block him in practice. Heâs an enthusiastic and aggressive player, and he goes 100 percent on every play. He doesnât take any plays off and brings everything. Heâs an aggressive kid, he finds the ball and he does what he can to make the play.â
French said while thereâs been interest from colleges, itâs mainly been smaller schools.
âHeâll play somewhere,â he said. âWe may be looking at an NAIA-type school because of his size, but he has the potential to play. Itâs a shame heâs not the height that some of the bigger schools would want.â
