Looks like the young Bulldogs can play with the number 1 team in the region. Congrats to Knott but so proud of the way Hazard played tonight. HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS!!!!!

Not surprised by this score at all. Hazard has a very good team that continues to get better. They shoot the ball very well and have one of the best coaches in the mountains. Watch out 14th.

Great game by the dawgs.
The last play of regulation will haunt them for a while but it should only make them hungry.
I was thinking KCC was going to run a catch-and-shoot play.
The second Davis put the ball on the floor I would have fouled him and congratulated him on handing us the game lol

And all the work on the bowflex has seemed to have an adverse effect on Davis' shot.
I saw tonight that on the season he is 23% from 3 and 57% from the ft line.
However, his ability to finish at the rim and crash boards is unremarkable.

I can understand catching the ball and waiting for them to foul so you can go into your shooting motion....
but putting the ball on the floor is a BAD idea in that situation.
He caught the ball in a bad spot too so I can see why he took some dribbles.
Bottom line though....
he made the shot that kept them alive and you can't really fault anything he did lol

KHSAA has Hazard winning 52-50. And we all know that we have to go by what the KHSAA says. lol

Exciting game.

Crazy game. Definitely a fun one to watch. The shot that Davis hit at the buzzer was as clutch as it gets. Big time play by a big time player. Hazard hung in there really well for the entire game. The 14th seems like it's going to be extremely competitive, as usual, come tournament time.

HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS!!!!!Who says they were number 1? I really think tht someone has to knock off PCC in this region before you can say they have been moved to #2. Now Breathitt could be Perry tomorrow, but until someone knocks them off, I would have to say they are 1. But this was a great step in the right direction for the Bulldogs. They had the right game plan, "knock the heck out of them" Knott does not like a physical game, even their coach was whining about it on the radio after the game. Excuses, excuses, just play and be happy you got the win, And looking at the shot again on sports overtime, looked like a 2 pointer to me. Hazard should of won by 1....WOW!!!! Didn't that happen to Hazard last week at Pikeville too. Same 15th region refs too.:devilflam

How can you say that it was a not a three. From the angle I had the Davis was behind the line. It was a three.
01-14-2012, 02:27 AM
Is their a link so I can see the shot?
01-14-2012, 02:47 AM
DID you watch Sportsovertime??? They even questioned it, but didn't have the "right" angle to be certain... I saw it Live and in person, it was a 2, one of the refs was questioning it a scorers table, but the 2 that made the calls against Hazard, and many were :"questionable", others no question, they were "terrible" calls, and its on film this time, not like Pikeville, there it was only still photos... but the DAWGS proved they are a force to contend with in the 54th and 14th!!! Proud of the BULLDOGS!!!

NEVER count an Al Holland coached team out of any game.
This year it seems all the kids want to be there and lay it all on the floor every time they play.
When March rolls around these guys will be as good as anyone.

Dawgs played well in this one, I thought they would lay down and die of intimidation but they proved a whole lot of people wrong...... Also I must say the Triplett kid done an amazing job guarding justice. Possibly one of the best defenders in the region.

talk about excuses and whining think you need to read the last two or three sentences of your post and think about who the whiner really is, As for the last second shot well lets just say to bad hazard wasn't up by 4:lmao:
congrats pats on the win!

Hard to believe this is the same Hazard team that I watched get dismantled by Breathitt early in the year. Congrats to the team and coaches for the improvements they have made.
Would like to have seen a Buckhorn/Hazard final but I guess I will have to wait til the All A for that.

Great game! Congrats KCC! Good job Hazard! This game went just about the way I expected it to. I wouldn't make a pregame prediction because I figured it could go either way. I would definitely select Hazard as the most improved team in the 14th. Someone said on one of these threads that KCC letting Hazard play them this close means they won't be able to beat PCC. Guys, this doesn't mean that KCC is that bad. It means Hazard is that good. You had better not overlook them.

Hazard has some very solid players and good size on the block. Hazard's talent level is as good or better than Knott Central's in my book.

Hazard has a nice group of transfers on their team.
Thompson and Tripet from Knott County
Brashear from South Laurel
Whitaker from Leslie County
All 4 start. Looks like a lot of the Hazard kids are getting the shaft. Dont see how all you blue and gold people wear those shirts with so much pride. And you all complain about Jaysean Paige coming to Perry.

Really!!!!
Triplett don't start much, Brasher worst player on the team..
Jaysean and Huff both start for Perry! I don't think anyone in the 14th has a reason to say anything about another team recuiting.

Downing your own players to attempt to make a point, interesting....

If they hadnt of had the Brashear kid last night, KCC would of won by 15 easily. Brashear isnt bad and some of the daddies boys need to throw him the ball down low a little more. The kid works hard on getting position and hit some big shots that all of Happys boys couldnt of done.
