Phelps 55 East Ridge 52
#1
Interesting.

Didn't get to watch but was told that EVERYONE including Kasonga and Wolter played for East Ridge, as I've already saw that excuse from the ER faithful.

Remember the Vundy quote?

I'm sure officiating will be blamed, sorry I missed the game.

Wow..what happened here?
#3
Phelps isn't that bad is what happened.

The Ridge Warriors played their best , But could not take down the Hornets nest . These Hornets are a surprise to me . Its like the hornets nest is in the top of a big poplar tree and the Ridge Warriors was throwing rocks at them . But this nest just keeps hanging in there .:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

There is more parity in the 15th region than ever b4. We always say 4-5 teams could win it, but really know its usually 2-3. This year there will be 8-9 teams that can represent the region in RUPP! As for this phelps team. They are very scrappy, have good size, and a couple kids who score. This will definately be a fun march!!

The 15th is WIDE OPEN!!!!!!! I WILL go out on a limb though and say....The 15th Region winner WILL come out of the 57th. Don't hate....just MHO.

“Relax, all right? Don’t try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they’re fascist. Throw some ground balls – it’s more democratic.”

Ummm....smh...did not expect this one.

Congrats Hornets!!

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON

Didn't Phelps beat Valley a few weeks ago. The 15th region is wide open indeed.

wow.... this is horrible. i mean whats going on anyone on this board could coach this team and win this region hands dawn! lamaster has no clue how to coach this team!! you cant stand out there and jack up three pointers the hole game when you got on of the best big men to ever play around here!! i mean It's simple post kasong go up throw him the ball and get out of the way !!!!!

Ray had a NASTY dunk on a kid plus a foul. But that's really the only thing I seen from him. He didn't run the floor at all and let a ton of rebounds go right beside him without even moving. Thats the first time I seen ER play and they should be better than they are. It seemed like Ray didn't even give an effort at sometimes throughout the game. But I'm sure if he would try and play to his potential that he could be an amazing player. Tony is super fast. I'd like to have him on my football team lol. But he is a pretty solid guard. I was more impressed with him than Ray today.
#11
imo from what iv seen if ray doesent get the ball he just stops playing bu8t then if he gets the ball and scores he trys harder on D and rebounds better!
#12
Tony Wolter is a much more promising HIGH SCHOOL player than Ray. Kasongo is lazy in-game. He refuses to work for the ball or play hard and it's almost sad to see his talent go to waste. He needs to step it up and start playing hard. Pretty dunks don't mean anything if you're taking losses.

The coach can draw up "Throw it to Ray and let him go to work" all you want, the problem is he won't set his feet and play strong to get the damn basketball. He gets it and tries to be finesse and make the highlight play, he needs to just get the ball in the basket!

I would give anything to be 6'8 with this kid's athleticism... Just want to see him USE it!

^For real man!
#16
Anybody ever think maybe there's a good reason why these kids get shipped around from place to place like NBA free agents...?

Big Win for Phelps (4-7) who snapped a three game losing stretch. East Ridge along with all of the pre-season "hoopla" drops to (6-3) on the season.

Way to go Hornets !!!

was this game on the radio today

Phelps is loaded with seniors, good size and above average guards. They can give a lot of 15th region teams trouble. They are also well coached. Already have wins against Paintsville,SV and now ER.
#21
Congrats Phelps
#22
Anybody have a schedule for today???
#23
Phelps is the real deal. They are in the top 3 or 4 teams of the region this year, while SV and ER are in the middle of the pack. I am a Valley fan, but will have to admit that at this point in the season, no team from our district has a chance at cutting the nets at the EXPO. I will agree with OTH who says the winner will be from the 57th - the only thing that could change it will be if the teams from the 59th decide to actually play as a team. There is still plenty of season let and I am sure many more ups and downs to come... btw, where is vundy?
#24
Sometimes you must tip your cap to the other team. Didn't get to see this game but from what I'm hearing it was more of the same from East Ridge. Hopefully they will get it together soon.
#25
Congrats Phelps.

Probably rethinking this statement after Phelps beat Shelby Valley...

Phelps isn't good man, they're bad. That's all there is to it.

Lets not get all crazy.

Phelps isn't the worst team in the state but they are not Top 5 in the region.

Betsy Layne beat them soundly.

Top 4 in no particular order -

Johnson Central
Magoffin
Sheldon Clark
Pikeville

I honestly don't know who I'd put in the 5th spot.
#28
Without Rowe, you can not put Pikeville in there...

Congrats phelps
