Knott 99 - Cordia 36
#61
OrangenowBlue Wrote:When were they a top three. The best they could have been was fourth because they lost to Letcher Central in the District Finals and Perry Central and Hazard were the teams in the regional finals.

Cordia lost to a worse team that year. Had better guard play and big men play but Cameron justice's dad, who is a 10 times better coach than who they have know, had a great game plan and beat them in the district championship. But Cordia was #3 behind Perry and Hazard that year.

Knott steam rolled over Cordia tonight.

Lol didn't happen tonight. Davis had two huge nasty amazing dunks.....on austin combs lol. BB wanted a beat down an he got. Congrats pats.

On behalf of the Knott County Central Patriots, I accept your congratulations.:1: By the way, one you guys need to go up and down the road and take down all those signs that you hung up for the Patriots to read as they traveled to the gym so that they won't end up as litter in the ditches.

All I can say is WOW, and welcome Coach Rhodes to the 14th regions best team. Maybe now all the smack about how good they are will cease hopefully. Their schedule is padded though, they will not play anymore competition until they have to play Letcher and Knott again, everyone else they will at least be able to get someone to score double digits!
On the Davis thing, he should of definitely been T'd up for going and pointing at someone in another teams huddle, if that is not an unsportsmanlike penalty, then there is not one. Protecting another player is one thing, being stupid is another and he should of been penalized for it, possibly even thrown out of the game.

WALL2WALL Wrote:Listen, yes I did run my mouth. yes I believed the hype. I was wrong, I am sure you guys are loving it. You were tired of us saying Cordia will be with these top teams and we were so far from the truth. We can shut up but we won't. We will still root for our team, no matter what the score is. And we will always stick up for them on these threads.

Cordia has so much room for improvement and that is the one thing I can take away from this game. If they can improve their shooting, they can play closer with these teams, but they shot horrible.

You don't have to shut up. But, as KHSAA12 likes to say, it will by "your opinion" and you guys have proven to us all that "your opinion" isn't worth very much!!!:devilflam

I agree with ya. Went to the game with my father and when we saw those signs dad asked me what Knott might think when they see those signs. Signs in the gym is ok, but signs up and down Lotts Creek is crazy.

Congrats to you! Maybe you should be coaching the Lions, because I ain't too impressed with Coach Rhodes right now.

Our opinion on THIS topic wasn't much. But doesn't mean that for every topic. I am sure you have had your opinions on certain teams and they prove you wrong. It happens to everybody. I have seen several people say this team will win by 30, and that team beats this team. Everybody is wrong in there lifetime, don't act like you haven't been.

I disagree, Knott was up by about 45 points when he pulled his starters in the third quarter. Then their bench actually started playing better than the starters for a while. BB put in his younger players towards the end of the 3rd quarter but when Cordia went back with their starters, so did Knott. Don't act like the score was drove up on the bench players for Cordia. It was just a continuous beatdown all night no matter who was on the floor for either team.

Umm....WOW!!:yikes: Looks like Cordia has a long way to go!

Just his third game. Still learning his players, they still learning him. Give him some time to build a program.

Awesome...That is all I can say...Don't talk it if you can't back it up
#73
And the signs up Lotts Creek, just added fuel to the fire. You hav eto learn to not make better teams than yours mad before the game starts. Surely they are smarter than that, guess not!

to be honest with you, I really couldn't care less....go back and look...before all the recruiting started I was pulling for PCC....KHSAA12 just really p*ssed me off several months ago with how obnoxious he was about these Texas boys coming in and taking over...I wouldn't have cared who spanked Cordia as long as it was mountain boys doing it....I've waited several months for someone to do it just so he couldn't tell me to wait and see....I am having my fun tonight and tomorrow I won't care what anyone says.

I want to see how these players handle the lose, and to see how Coach Rhodes handles the lose. It's one thing to get beat. It's another to get beat severely.

They need to put this game behind them.

He got escorted out of Kentucky once. Hopefully it will happen again! I just want him to take his Texas boys with him when he goes.

I might be a Cordia fan but remember I am still a Perry fan. And have your fun, you deserve it. All us Cordia fans were wrong.

But don't mean we don't know our Basketball when we are wrong about ONE thing.

ANEWPAT Wrote:hey Dude it's wrong every time by every body.....but you guys have been so obnoxious about this team that you probably brought it on the team yourselves. Do you realize how sick everyone in the 14th has gotten from hearing you guys on here and on Facebook and everywhere else running your mouths about how that team was going to dominate? All that does is make the other team want it that much more. You know why KCC has never beat Cordia that bad before? Because they have always had enough respect to call the dogs off and not just try to embarass the Lions. You guys ran your mouths so much that they decided this time they would teach you a little lesson. You didn't do the Lions any favors!

DId I evr say he benches them cause they was down 43, no he benches them cause they was suckin up the floor. Say what u want nvr tried to put this on Cordia playing their jv. If u listened or watched u would have known I was in no way insinuating that. Knott blew this thing out before the jv.43 and 63 is a 20 point difference pal. Davis got his dunks on Austin combs. Ask ne one that watched or listened.

Well....fun is over with for me....I have to get up at 6:00 in the morning and head out to work. But, come on Orangenowblue, don't let me down. I know you have a lot to say on this subject and I can't wait to get home tomorrow and read it all. I am going to sleep so well tonight!!

Not being disrespectful, but that's all you've been to them. Have u ever tlked to rhodes and those kids? Ill introduce u if wanted, so you can keep the hate on us fans and not the people that is doing nothing at all.

How long does it take, they have been practicing since July!

Don't know if you were at the game, but it was just the begining of a timeout. Neither team had even made it to their bench. Zach may have said something to one of Cordia's player's I don't know, but it didn't warrant a technical. A coach under no circumstance should say anything to a high school player or touch him, rhodes did both!!!
#86
Davis split through coach smith and Rhodes made his way to mullins, stuck finger in his face and said u have one more time. Ur crazy or plain out lying if u say anything different from that. I kno what Davis said after asking Rhodes personally. Had every right to kick that shit out his huddle. Ne other player does that and they get ejected. Stop kidding yourself. Knott dominated, but davis acted like a child in this situation. Why's that so hard to admitt?
#87
I told MVP2 that this game could get ugly, and I was right. As for the teams and the score, people its not that Cordia is this bad, but KCC is this good, extremely this good. Sorry PCC fans but been saying and its the truth, KCC is the best team in the region. Nobody has a player like Zach Davis, and Cameron Justice is unreal.

I admit I am a Cordia fan, but I haven't been on here talking about how good they are. I tried to tell some Cordia fans to step back and see the picture, but no one listened. Looks like Cordia got knocked back into REALITY tonight.

I don't care who you are and for what reasons your doing it, Davis should of been ejected.

As far as bringing up past Cordia teams, when I was a freshman Cordia was the 2nd best team in the region that year behind Hazard. Split the season with Letcher, and lost to a team in district finals not as good. Beat PCC that year, got an unlucky draw and the best 2 teams in the region played in the first round.

Congrats KCC!!! I don't believe you will have to worry about anymore trash talk from anyone else. Cordia is still top 10 in region but first 2 games wasn't no test, this was their first test. Cordia is my 9th best team in the region right now. So much growing and developing as a team left to do, and Rhodes is still learning.
#88
The fuel to the fire saying is the only reason the score was this bad, was the fact people running their mouths in and outside the community. What I would give to watch the PCC KCC game from regional finals last year with a healthy Zach Davis
#89
Hmm. I would taunt the Cordia faithful, but I'm going to take the high road.
If Jaysean gets eligible, Perry will repeat. If not, I'm still giving them the slight edge.
#90
KHSAA12 Wrote:Kcc played like true champions tonight. Cordia has a lot to work on. They'll get better as the year goes on. Congrats kcc
I would have to agree, they have nowhere to go but up after tonight's performance. Let's get realistic here and understand, no varsity experience for their most talented players, the returning starters who are proven quitters (will never produce in a big game atmosphere), and a inexperience coach with a good basketball pedigree. AAA LOOOONG WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
