Pike Co Central
#1
Might as well jump on the bandwagon since everyone is posting threads of local teams for next season.

Thoughts and Predictions for the Hawks in 2012?

We are losing quite a few key seniors from last years team:

Alan Boggs (QB), Justin Smith (HB/DB), Robbie Hopkins (WR/DB), Justin Runyon (OL/DL), Calvin Cline (DL), Kody Trivette (FB/LB), Carlet Merrell (OL/DL), Tyler May (OL/DL), Austin Cochran (OL/DL) & Mark Maynard (OL)

Do have some key returning players however including:

Wes Pugh (WR/DB), Cory Shouse (WR/LB), Marcus Johnson (RB/DB), Mac Justice (QB/WR/DB), Josh Johnson ©, Jared Ramey (OL/DL)....ETC.

Another big question going around is will John Chapman return or not?

Thoughts?

That is a lot to lose.

Pugh and Shouse are big keys coming back.

Will PC be able to run the same offense? I would envision a shift to a more run oriented offense. The Pike Central Defense is going to have to step it up for this team to host a home playoff game.

I still here Chapman won't be back any word on this yet.

I saw in another thread that Pugh was rumored to be enrolling somewhere else for next season any truth to this?

He seems to be involved in a lot of rumors. I will believe it when I see it.

I thank he might go over where his mom works.

I have been told personally that will not happen, but you always have to take everything with a grain of salt.

OK, Chapman will return for his fourth season, Coach Mike will return, and a third Assistant will join the staff in a full time position...As for Pugh, he will be a Senior, and will return, the "Hawks" have several players that will return, some that saw action both ways this past season..Some of the returning players will be Shouse, Pugh, Pruitt, who will all be seniors, and a really good group of Juniors, and "SEVERAL" that had extensive playing time.... Look for the Hawks to go away from the passing game to a running game this year....The "Hawks" will be reloaded and be ready for play as they hit the weight room all year! 2012, will be a much better year than most expect...As for memory....the cast that are Seniors was Pike Centrals first Middle School Football team, and had a great first year...County runner up to Belfry with Messer, Newsome, and the gang...So as the Middle School was powerful in the run...So will the High School.....

They will be pretty poor IMO.

who else are they recruiting to replace Boggs?

Freshman Mac Justice was his back-up last season.

So I believe he'll be starting as a sophomore next season
#13
I hear Breathitt has a nice QB.
#14
I don't know about Pugh transferring to where his mom works, but I've heard that Marcus Johnson may transfer to where his cousin goes to school. Can you blame them if they do? I mean, you've lost your best players, possibly the coach, and it's your senior season. I'd like to have the talent, but I don't know if I wanna hear all the bullcrap.

Richard Trent?

Yup, he's damn good.

I had to witness him and Will Colllins run all over us.

Mac is pretty good athlete. He was a good quarterback through Jr.High but this is High School ball now.
#21
Mac was mainly a starting WR on varsity, he got some QB snaps although in blowout games.

So I don't know how good his arm is.

But as HawksRule mentioned, very good athlete and still has some growing to do.
#22
So someone mentioned a new coordinator is coming in.

I wonder who bolted?
#23
Hopefully they are as good as last season if not better.
#24
Right now it's about to early to be making predictions and talking about next season. In a few months it'll be time to talk some football

Pike Central lost alot. But they have good players they just aint had much time on the field. I also heard they got a new QB from Powell and a new coach (dad). I look at his stats he was not a throwing QB but powell was not a throwing team. What does everone else think?
#26
6-4 / 7-3 first round playoff loss.
#27
I've seen Cox play since he was a freshmen at Powell County. Good kid. His passes aren't perfect but he can get the ball to where it needs to be.
#28
I already started a Pike Central, but it's been buried quiet a few pages back.
#29
What key players does PC have returning?

His house going to get flooded too?
