Ky HS Fball is boring.

One close game last night. Same old teams playing for state titles. Time for things to change, IMO. Private school class, Catholic school class, no more 6 class system, something...
#2
I think we should just eliminate the playoffs!

Not sure if this is tongue in cheek or not.

1 Close Game?

Mayfield 19-14 over Beechwood. Tigers final drive ends inside the 20 with :23 to play?

Belfry over Garrard as the Lions drive to try to win it in the last minute but throw a pick 6?

You do have me on the rest of them. :notworthy

However there were TWO!

Just saw the Scott County score. 16-14 over Boone County.

That's THREE, not two or even one.

Just sayin' :Shaking:

Haven't heard all the scores but weren't the only blowouts Trinity and Central. Scott County beats Boone 16-14, Franklin-Simpson wins on a late TD 20-15 over Collins.

I think 5 of 6 close games. Not sure what your definition of close is.

I wasn't the one starting the thread. I'm on your side. Reread it again!

There were many other blowouts btw. (Unless you missed Anderson County, Bowling Green and Holy Cross among others)

All in favor. The regular season should mean everything. Or cut it to one, two games at most. Play more regular season games instead. That way, more schools can play more games, but teams that obviously are not the best teams in the state have no shot at getting lucky and stealing a championship from a better team.

It's time we as a nation start rewarding excellence instead of luck.

I think it's boring compared to AZ and Cali, the other two states I've lived in, but HS football in KY is doing fine. I hate the 6 classes, mainly because I don't think Kentucky has enough schools for it...but it's not changing anytime soon and I'm enjoying KY football enough.

5 of the 6 state championship games will be blowouts. With 6 classes, it has watered down the competition dreadfully.
#10
Yeah people always tall trash about Class A but the fact is in the State of Kentucky there are A LOT of bad teams in all classes..
#11
I hate wasting my breath......I mean finger-typing because it will be 6 classes for quite a while. On another thread, I posted how easy it would be to create 6 classes. It even surprised me at how simple it would be. I think it was leaving 1A and the new 5A with a few less teams than 2A, 3A, and 4A but only 7 or teams would move, so all that would happen is 1 or 2 districts would be added, AND I evened out the districts without much moving around. The teams driving 2 hours for a district game were over.

It proved to me that the Athletic Directors/KHSAA go OUT OF THEIR WAY to make it more difficult than it has to be.

Yay another cryer.

If you dont like it, go tell your AD to remove your school from the KHSAA and play for an imaginary title every year.

if u don't want the same teams playing at state. tell all the other teams to get better.

if they did do that, it would make 8 or 9 classes still. they can't put a 1A private/catholic scool with a 6A private/catholic school.
#14
I think next year might be a year of change at least in the eastern side of the state for 1A. I don't think Hazard will be a stacked as they usually are and you have teams like Williamsburg and Harlan that are up and coming. A state championship for the eastern half maybe a few years off though.

You don't have to watch or keep up. Go some where else.

Holy Cross vs Somerset was not a close finishing score ending at 48-14 but it in no means was a boring game. First half was extremley close, but by no means was the second half boring.
What I would recommend for people that think in the manner of this thread start is to start picking the better game to go to watch. If you end up at a blow out you can blame yourself.
A lot of these threads talk about the respect that the fans have for their seniors and players whos seasons have ended and I agree. These kids would do a lot to continue their playing time so why do anything to eliminate more games just for a few fans who can not pick the best game to go watch. Leave it as it is, by that I mean for the player not the fans.

Preseason polls should determine the state champion.....forget about playing, after all a kind might get injured or something......I assume teams like Highlands and Trinity will be ranked number 1 in there respective classes next year once again, so instead of playing for it, how bout we just give it to em?

I would say Middlesboro 1998.

In a 3rd round playoff game in Va, a team won 88-8. I have watched mutliple state finals from different states the last day or two on Fox Sports networks. Many have been blowouts and many more repeat champs than not. I don't think KY is unique in the fact that the same teams win and win by large margins. It is more a tribute to those teams than a knock on the others.

Correct, and with the current state of Mayfield and Beechwood's programs I don't see another one coming around the corner.

I honestly dont care if any of you agree with me or not. Its my OPINION and I will say what I want about it. If you dont want to hear me or my opinions dont READ my THREADS! You go else where on the board. The fact is, its basically the same teams in the finals each year and IMO its boring! ( I wont be at the finals bc not one game will be worth a dang.)

Whats so funny about me saying that a championship could be a few years off? It sounds to me like we agreed on the subject but,You trolled it,being the idiot you are. Also,I appreciate you,Runitupthegut, for encouraging such an idiot. I just lost a little of the respect I had for you.

Well, I'll make it a little easier for you. It's BOWLING GREEN. Just copy that onto a piece of cardboard and you'll have your sign all set for hitch-hiking.:trolldad2:
