Prestonsburg 69 South Floyd 56
#1
That's a final!
#2
Where was this game played?
Good job Blackcats
#3
Congrats Prestonsburg
#4
Can we all say this together OUCH PDT_059

looks like the All A wasnt the turning point after all
#5
Can we say Conference Champs?? Unclassy of me or not I can say I told you so. All this rantin and raving about SF didn't pay off. I predicted a 10+ victory and they won by 13. Sad thing is BL gave P-burg a better game than the NBA Champs South Floyd Raiders. I love it. Congrats cats. You get Allen Central first round.

Anyone have the stats? It must have been a very physical game. What about "T's", any called?
#7
VERY physical game to say the least. It was very exciting. And yes there were 2 T's called. One on P-burg and one on SF. 2 occasions where T's should have been called. (1 being when a p-burg player threw the ball and hit a SF player after the whistle was blown, and same thing went for a SF player.) Very fun game to watch though. Lot of fouls called too. P-burg lost 2 to fouling out and SF lost 1 I think, and had Stanley in foul trouble early.
#8
bcf4l were you at the game? I just talked to 3 people one being a coach and all three said they aren't sure why the T was called on P'burg player. He said he was walking by the ref after a foul was called on another player and just remarked for the ref to watch another player that he was elbowing big time and then the T the ref told the coach he knows he said something, and thought he was mouthing. they said there was no ball thrown by the P'burg player.
#9
Yes I was at the game. The T was called on Michael Stephens after I think it was Jesse got called for a foul and I didn't even see Michael say anything. He just walked by the ref. Why a T was called I do not know. There was a ball thrown however by Trevor Compton. P-burg had scored and the refs blew the whistle for some reason which stopped play and Trevor had the ball and turned and threw it to or at Little while he was standing out of bounds. Don't think he was meaning to hit Little with it but he just threw the ball towards the out of bounds line where the ref usually stands and it hit Little. Of course SF fans went crazy but I don't think it was a big deal. I do not know. Had the refs seen it though it woulda been called. Then Little came down and threw the ball at Compton. Another play at which the refs didn't see.

Thanks for clarifying bcf4l, I missread your post. they say it was a very good game with the refs inconsistent as is usual in the 15th. Are refs consistant anywhere in Ky? Because every game is so different. I know the refs want to keep control of the game in many cases.
#11
Yeah the ref's missed alot of calls all together...Im a big fan of both teams, but when they play I like to see my raiders due well...The T that was called on Michael Stephens was him running his mouth at the refs...The one on SF was on Barry Hall because his players were getting mugged and nothing was called.....Pburg did have more fouls called on them BUT that was because they were calling all the little touch fouls BUT they were letting by with mugging the SF players....Yes Sf had some hard fouls too and yes they were called.....South Floyd shot the ball very bad too...Had they made some shots they still could of had this one....But they will be a team to reckon with in district.. I dont think that Pburg is better than them nor do I think that Sf is better than Pburg...I think that they are even

Good game by both teams

Congrads to Prestonsburg on this win. This is how many games in a row that south floyd has got a technical foul againest them? I dont understand why they keep getting into this trouble. The coach obviously doesnt any control over his players. Good luck with that i guess. But, sounds like a good game.

He has control...lol...He the coach was the one that got the T

But, what about the other games before that? I wasn't at the game but i was told that Little got the technical. Sorry about that.

I have heard good things about SF coach but everytime I read on here they got a technical.

Well if you read everything then you would note that if they recieved a T they sit the rest of the game
#16
Everygame that I have watched and a player gets a T, I know that Coach Hall sits them for the rest of the game!
#17
What a great game!! I didn't see Michael say anything to the ref to get the T but ahh well... Prestonsburg played a great game.. Leslie played more aggressive .. Herrick coming off the bench and hitting the 3 threes helped a lot!! Way to go Blackcats!!! Confernce Champs!!!!!!!!!!!!
#18
Well thanks for keeping me up to date. I didnt know that he sat all his players for getting a technical foul. That is a good man though. Not too many coaches would do such a thing. Im glad to see he sticks by his rules, even if its his best player.
#19
South Floyd will argue that they are still the #1 team in the region even though they never were to begin with...Thank you Prestonsburg for putting the raiders in their place....

Some Raider butts are going to be soar tomorrow because they just got SPANKED
#20
Prestonsburg is the best team in the district and they proved it tonight. Prestonsburg is just to athletic and too strong at every position. If they keep this kind of play up they are going to be VERY tough to beat.
#21
P-burg played a great game and shut down SF all night...
Congrats P-burg!

Keep it up P-Burg u all mayb the Cinderella story to take it from Valley once again who knows.

I drove up to Pburg to watch what I had hoped would be a good game to decide a conference championship between what I had heard was good teams with some talented big men.

I did not see that.

I am ashamed that I paid to watch it.
All jokes aside I was dissapointed by what I saw in both teams.

South Floyd could not hit an outside shot 14% will not win many games.
I would praise the blackcats for their defense, but SF was missing wide open shots. Neither team looked impressive.
Free throws may be both teams downfall.

Perhaps they were both off this night.

I hope they both play better come torney time.
Congratulations to Coach Crisp for his conference championship.

They are not the best team in the district....Them and SF are about even

A 13 point win and they are even? Don't really understand your logic there. They only beat Prestonsburg by 3 at SF. Prestonsburg has also beaten Betsy Layne twice rather handily, and South Floyd has been beaten twice by them. Prestonsburg went 5-1 in the district and South Floyd went 4-2. You can't argue with that. They are CONFERENCE CHAMPS! Champs is usually reserved for the BEST.

I went to the game it was the worst refs in the history of bbal and sf shot 14% from the field play on a neutral court it would be a close one i c the two teams meetin again in the finals at bl

Oh I just love this. South Floyd talks about how great they are but once they lose a game its all the refs fault. It was the worst reffed game ever. I mean come on just come to the fact that you all were beat by a better team.
#29
They will meet again in the championship. That is if SF can get past Betsy Layne. And the way things went during the season during these 2, I'm not sure if SF will even make it that far. I agree with Gish. P-burg is the best in the district no doubt. A 13 point win at home compared to just a 3 point win on the road. That's a 10 point difference in favor of Prestonsburg on a neutral court given the current numbers. P-burg will win the district pretty easily this year. Now as far as the region goes, if they can hit their free-throws then P-burg will be tough. They have a great inside game that not even the biggest guy in the region could stop. But you can't base one game during the season on how a team will do come tourney time. But we all know P-burg is more of a tournament team than a regular season team. Good luck to the cats and good luck the rest of the way for coach Hall and the Raiders.

Yeah i'm with everyone else on this site South Floyd will probably be state... no, national champions this year. They have 3 solid first round picks on their squad... like i've been saying all year, they didn't impress me at all. I personally thought they played better last night in the loss than they did up at Hi Hat in the win.
