The Tigers (2-8) will head to The WC Hambley Athletic Complex to take on the Panthers (8-2) Thursday night in the 1st round of the Class A playoffs. Winner will face the winner of South Floyd and Raceland.

Paintsville will be without starting QB Daniels due to possible MCL tear. Prayers are with the kid. Rootin for the TIGERS. But, they have a lot to do to get the win.

Maybe the end of an era for the Tigers, hopefully a new begining after this year. I just hope the four seniors have a good game.

Go Tigers.

I predict that these young Tigers will play with desire, dignity and the heart of a champion regardless of the caliber of their foe. They are all fine young men, and they leave their heart and soul on that field every time they play. That makes them winners. Go Tigers!!!

probably going to be a blow out
i hear paintsville has a kicker with a dandy leg?
#7
That would make 2 fine kickers in this one. Don't see that to often in east ky.

Pikeville will name the score. The Tigers have no chance.

This is an age-old rivalry that has lost some of its luster. Big competitors, but usually with respect shown. Schools are similar in size and have excelled in athletics and academics, so it was always a good measuring stick game for both schools. Paintsville has struggled recently and Pikeville has somewhat, based on traditional records. However, this Panther team plays a lot more like the teams of the "good old days" and appear to be heading towards a big run in the playoffs. Here's hoping Paintsville can get it back to the days of Joey Couch and Tony Mayes and make this a great rivalry again. But Thursday night, Panthers continue to build momentum. Pikeville 49, Paintsville 6.
