Love the effort you guys put into these rankings.

That said, and with as much tact as I can, I don't see how Lewis Co. deserves to be in the top 10 in 3A. I know they won district with a suprise upset over Russell, but IMO Pike Co. Central is more deserving of that spot. OR, Monroe County.

Like to hear some discussion on why Pike Central or Monroe Co. is less deserving than Lewis Co.
#13
Be difficult to justify a couple of those teams in fact over Monroe, Pike Central, and Fort Campbell.
#14
Fort Campbell is 5-4, but they played Christian Co. to a 4 point game! Played Paducah Tilghman to a 31-7 game. Dominating victories over a decent Trigg Co. team and a pretty decent Russellville team also.

What has Lewis or Bourbon done to deserve being ranked ahead of Ft. Campbell?
#15
I am waiting for the battle of the 4A Rankings. That will stir some controversy.

Maybe because Pike County Centrals has beaten no one. They have wins over a Greenup County team that is 0-9, a 1A Phelps team that is 4-5, a 2A Shelby Valley team that is 5-4, a 3A East Ridge team that is 0-9, a 3A Lawrence County team that is 4-5, and a 3A Sheldon Clark team that is 1-8. The combined record of the teams that they have beaten is 14-40. On the other hand they have played 2 good teams in Belfry and Powell County and lost by a combined score of 90-54. Any more questions?

You have good an valid points.
However, like Norm said, Pike CC has to compete with good competetion before any notice is taken.
With that said, i dont personally do the 3A rankings but i can understand where EKUAlum is coming from on this one.
He watches football in that exact area and im sure hes got to watch and see the PCC program over many years now. If theres one thing im sure hes certain on its probably the teams in his own area.

As i said though, its hard to know what teams deserve to go in what places. Its other MEMBERS that have to help us in deciding these decisions that are close to call.
With a playoff victory or two, PCC could easily find themselves in the top 10, especially with an upset.

Think that Manual is way too low. Their only losses are to St. X and Trinity and they have wins over #5 PRP and #3 Butler. Can you explain why the lower ranking for them?

I'll be the first to admit I left Ft. Campbell out on accident. I thought I was missing someone and couldn't for the life of me think who it was. IMO, Ft. Campbell would fall in line at #8 and knock everyone else down a spot.

As for Pike Central, as anyone can see from my comments in the the wake of the Belfry game I think PC has a very dangerous team who can create matchup issues for a ton of squads. My issue with PC is the fact that they not only lost to Belfry, but lost to a Powell County team who finished 4th in their district behind Garrard, Bourbon, and Western Hills. Pike Central's non-district schedule has proved nothing, and when they have a shot at redemption against an elite 3A team on their homefield Belfry hangs fitty on them and win by 5 TD's.

Offensively, PC is an A- student. Defensively and from a depth standpoint they are an "I" for incomplete.

Lewis also lost to Powell County, but when they had an opportunity to make a statement against a Top 10 3A team Lewis defeated Russell and won their district outright.

The 4A rankings are a beast. I really wanted to have a tie at 5th and a 3-way tie at 10th. I'll be the first to say that 5 through 12 could beat each other on any given night. Franklin-Simpson and Collins both deserve to be in there somewhere, and one could argue North Oldham as well. The only thing that I am set on is the top 4. In fact, I sent it to RIUTG to post, then changed it again....even now I see one thing I'd do different.

These are good looking rankings. You guys do a great job with these.

You do know Knox Central lost don't you. They moved up three spots this week in the top ten (from 10 to 7). I am not saying they are not a top seven team, but moving up three spots when you lose? If I was them, I would try to lose again.

They lost to a higher ranked team by a last minute touchdown away from home. Teams in front of them that lost and gave up spots on the rankings because they didn't perform up to expectations:

Johnson Central lost by 16 to Ashland and were taken out of the top 10
Madisonville lost to and unranked (before this week) Lone Oak
Franklin-Simpson beat a (3-5) ACS in OT by 1 point and were dropped.

So, it wasn't that they moved up, it was that others moved down due to poor performance. I had felt like Johnson Central was over-ranked since I began doing the 4A rankings, but they were there and Ashland basically showed that they didn't deserve to be.

I couldn't move Lone Oak (from being unranked) up in front of Rock or Knox after a 3 point win over Madisonville, and I felt all along that Madisonville was better than Franklin-Simpson. So they dropped out.

I don't think any other class is as close as 4A once you get past the top 4. So, regardless of how teams are ranked the prior week, I'll be placing who I think is performing best any given week from order of 1-10. It's that or I'm going to have 7 teams tied for 5th..................lol.

Just having a little fun with you. You do a good job. Good luck to Russell Co. in the playoffs. They are playing good at the right time. I really think the kicker will separate your team from other teams that are similar in skill and execution. Good win over a talented Knox Central team. Gotta love this time of the year.
