Wow. Glad to see the cougars get the win. Whitley goes from a shot at 2 to the bottom. I guess PCC wasnt having that bad of a game last week. Letcher was just a good team in hiding.

I kind of noticed what was going on tonight and i cant blame Whitley.
I think a team should always play to win, but this is definitely a better set up for us in the playoffs. LCC played good enough to win no matter what and i think it took us by surprise that Johnson was back in there.
I think in a four team district, the regular season means nothing when it comes to the playoffs, except when a team is playing for home field which we werent.
Whitley came out flat and it showed. Heck, had Johnson played last week LCC could have been in second place in the district and hosting a playoff game.
Off to Boyle next week and then SW in the first round. Hopefully we can put another beating on them like we did in the first round last year.
BTW, how does a kid go from a busted spleen or whatever to playing 2 week later? lol

He had from September the 17th til now to get better for the game. Which i heard he was done and i told the person who told me there was no way he will go out with a L unless he is playing.

Still all ive heard is that he was done for the year.
Im not saying it wasnt a smart move on LCC's part, WC obviously wasnt prepared for Johnson in anyway and really had no way to be prepared for him.
But all of this "he's done for the year and its life threatning" wasnt the case.

Its the flatest and worst game ive seen us play since the Russell and Rock games.
No heart tonight in this one.
It does however get us away from HC in the playoffs, if we even get past the first round.

What happened RIUTG? I find it hard to believe that Johnson's return to play made that big of an impact on this game, especially with Whitley's offensive play. LCC is a good team, but I figured Whitley would be way too physical for this to happen. Did the boys just overlook this game? I'm scratching my head over this one.

22-30 428 yards and 4 TD's....
40 rushing yards 1 TD
1 INT....
Logan had 5 weeks off from the injury and has thrown the football for maybe an hour total in 5 weeks. He had these stats when they pretty much ran the ball the entire 2nd half. Just picked them apart all game. I think the credit goes to the offensive line because this is the best they have protected Logan at a time when they HAD TO PROTECT him and they succeeded. Just a great all around effort. Really loved the way Drew Bentley ran the ball last night. This is the Drew that I have waited on for a VERY LONG TIME! Sky is the Limit and I too think come playoff time that there may be an eye opener!

You hit the nail on the head when you said "overlooked"
I think were a better team but were also a younger team and i was worried this would happen.
We just didnt show up and when we did show up it was to late to mount a comeback. The first half was attrocious. We didnt do anything right. We had stupid mistakes and i honestly think these boys just didnt think LCC stood a chance which is typical of a young team.
As i said though, were getting better every week. I think this was a big wake up call and instead of driving to Lincoln County we go to Southwestern, which is the only team in district 7 thats had a somewhat good year.
I think district 8 is by far the better district and it will show in the first round.
Without Johnson tonight, Whitley wins in a blow out. He's definitely 100% of there offense in every way.
And, as i stated in the prediction thread, anything can happen when these two meet up. I dont care if WC was 9-0 and LCC was 0-9 or vise versa, the underdog always stands a chance in this one. Luckily, the seasons not over and we travel to Boyle next week to close out the regular season.
As long as we learn something from it, we'll be fine.

Don't worry my High-5 buddy. At least Whitley didn't get the treatment PCC got tonight. The bears beat them so bad early, that they let them back in it in the 3rd so they could maul them again. Not often that your team get's it handed to them twice in the same game.
