Jude and Wales inch closer to the record....
#1
After last friday night,
Jude was 700 yards away from the record.
Wales was 1,194 yards away from the record.

I believe Jude ran for 420 yards this week meaning he needs less than 300 yards to break the record.
Wales had 197 yards last week pulling him under a 1000 yards for the record and he stands at 997 yards away.

Jude needs 280 yards.
Wales needs 997 yards.
#2
When Jude breaks this, does it make him a lock for Mr. Football?
#3
^
Im not sure.
Honestly, i think Wales still has a great chance of passing him up in the playoffs as JC will only play 2 to 3 rounds while Wales will play all 5 more than likely.
Jude will also face Ashland and Belfry, two very good defenses in the season finale while Wales plays PRP and someone else but he should have a field day.
Im gonna guess Jude breaks it first, but Wales passes him up in the state champiosnhip game and IF that happens, Wales will be your mr football IMO
#4
Keep your fingers crossed that Jude brings it home!

While it would be nice to see a mountain kid win, Patrick Towles pretty much has this award locked up.
#6
^ What are Patricks stats?

No, you have to imagine that the same questions regarding how a lot of these yards were earned will be asked by those voting on Mr. Football. Personally, I don't care how or when he played, but the accomplishment will be tainted because of the what if factor.....what if Wales played that late in the game? what if Jude sat out once the game was in hand? etc.

Then of course you have a certain QB that seems to have already been fitted for the crown. Towles should be Mr. Football............no questions asked.

Just guessing, but I would think these stats have been achieved in 18 or fewer quarters.

jude may break the record this week! if not then on his first or 2nd run of the following week! pulling for the mountain kid!

I'm certain Towles played all 4 Quarters vs. Boyle and Cov Cath. That would mean he only played 10 in the other 6 games. That's less than a half per game on average.

Is that right? Your premise/point I agree with, he could have a lot more numbers if left in.

Kids a champion and that's what is hard to overlook in Mr. Football voting.

The kid nor the coach could care less about the stats. I think the Mr. Football award should be based on the accomplishments that you lead your team to not statistics that can be flawed due to competition. If Wales leads Central to the state title, his stats could mean as much as the accomplishments that Towles will achieve by winning the state title. I'm wondering if Towles could get votes for 3 titles (If HHS wins). To me, that is noteworthy, but should not weigh in the Mr. Football award for 2011.

^ As it should be, and that's the exact reason why Towles should win regardless of what the other two do the remainder of this season. Towles' stats don't even begin to show how good he is, and without him HHS goes from an extremely good team to just a good team. There are a lot of players, Like Ace, who make a difference in a descent team.......Towles makes and exceptional team great. It's not often that 1-player has that much impact on a program that's already one of the best in the state.

it doesn't make him a lock, i don't know if it puts him ahead of Wales either. Mr. Football is like the Heisman, it's almost a popularity contest.

Actually it would be 3. Towles did not start his freshman year. Tony Guidugli did.

So if is JJ known outside of his regional area?

Even though JJ Jude is good..He is way overplayed in games where he should be out of the game by the end of halftime..that's why he is so closer to the record than Ace "Wales" is, my vote would be either for Ace or Patrick Tolwes.

Probably about 20 or 21 quarters. 8 in the two games you mentioned and 12 + or - in the other 6.

I hate to say this, but if history holds, it seems that early commitment to UK or UL doesn't hurt one's chances in the Mr KY Football sweepstakes.

He was allstate 1st team at HB last year I think

I Googled both Jude and Wales to see what recruiting sites are saying. Wales is all over the place and good information about J.J. can't be found with a search warrant.

Thats to be expected.
No surprise there, i figure Jude will either go to college for wrestling or attend a NAIA school.
I think Wales could end up at a mid major.

Wow, 193 completions in 158 attempts for Towles?!!
TALK ABOUT STAT-PADDING.

Now don't tell me you haven't heard the old adage, "two receivers with one ball."

I've also heard that Jude once went 600 yards on 4 carries.............lol. Of course two of the carries were late in the 4th when JC was only up by 63.
#26
The reason i would go with Wales is, look at the competition he plays every year. PRP, St. X or Trinity, Seneca, DuPont..and Coach Scroggins doesn't play him when there up by 63 lmao.
Also another candidate for Mr. Football would be Scooter Hollis from Bowling Green.

Jude as of today needs 319 yards to beat the record. I think he will be very close to doing so friday night at ASHLAND. Central will need to bring their best line onto the field.

JJ's team has a loss and he probably had 30+ carries in that game. Throw that game out and the Boyle game for Highland and JJ's touches will be very similar to the amount of plays that Towles has either passed or run, if not more. It's easy to say we pulled them in the middle of the second Quarter, but where do all these attempts come from when you score on the first eight plays of the game?
