Log Mountain ain't going to care for this too much.

Simple math shows that the voter who voted Harlan County first (you know, whoever is voting from the Daily Enterprise) voted Bowling Green fourth. That's pretty pathetic. You can vote Harlan County first if you want to (though there is no justification), but no excuse for putting Bowling Green fourth. Someone also put John Hardin third, which I believe at this point is equally unjustifiable.

Still think Russell is to low in 3A.

^ Who do you think is overrated? Powell and Garradd?
Surprised to see Belfry leap frog Bell. I think it is downright silly to put them in a tie with Central, but oh well. Seems the voters were impressed with the Ashland victory. IMO they are right to be impressed as Ashland has a really good team this season.

However, they dropped Ashland 3-spots. So evidently that was a valuable 1-point game for both teams.

^ Yeah I suppose. The loss itself dropped Ashland though right? The teams ahead of them with only one loss have solid resumes also. AP voters would have a difficult time justifying keeping Ashland ahead.

I'm not sold on Ft Campbell or Edmondson County either.
I think the top 5 are pretty solid except the fact that Belfry jumped Bell and is tied with Central.

^ I can't agree more on your last sentence. Belfry is rightfully in the 3 hole IMO.
I have to admit, I am familiar with Russell and have a hard time believing teams like Powell Co. and etc are better. But to be fair, I haven't seen those teams play.

Powell did beat Pike Central but got spanked by Garrard. I know Edmondson is undefeated but they really haven't played anyone except the OT win against Grayson County. Ft Cambell i just don't know. Russell does have two losses but they weren't bad losses. (20-14 to Ironton and 32-14 to Ashland).
Still yet I feel all of those teams are a notch or two below the top 5.

FBALL,
Done any scouting on Garrad Co.? Looks like Russell's battle for region. Apparently they are balanced and pretty good.

From one of the biggest Belfry fans around....1. Central ...will be a dogfight with Bell in the region semis. 2. Bell..see point number one. 3.. Belfry..has closed the gap with Central, but Central would still be 2 TD plus favorite... This is after 7-8 game evaluation.. IMO would be a heck if a game if Belfry D keeps improving..must win District to have optimal route through playoffs...4..Breathitt...dangerous athletic team...no district competition... Could face PCC in a good one in Jackson in round two..5) Tilghman.. Looks like easy route to semis IMO!!

Tilghman is playing pretty good and could be dangerous.

Yep I agree about Tilghman, that's why I have them in the semis...and my other post should have said Central and Bell in the regional final!!

I know their only loss was to Danville. The rest of their schedule is pretty unimpressive. They had shootouts with Clay County and Boubon County.

FBALL,
Have read your posts for a few years now, shoot maybe longer, I know you know your stuff. I think Russell hosts a game to decide whether or not they go to state. Question IMO is whether it will be Belfry or Russell. I honestly mean no disrespect to the Devils, but I like Belfry by a couple scores in that game and Breathitt looks to be pretty good too.
I watched the Russell v. Belfry game last year and the same cast is more or less gonna be on the field this year. BUT, that is why you play the games!

I'm a huge 3a guy and i like belfry alot but there is no way they leep frog bell. now a number 2 tie would be fine with me but not ahead of them. so my 3a would look like 1 central 2a bell and of those 2 teams will be our next 3a stake champs 2b belfry 4 breath co 5 tilghman. i hate to say it folks but it looks like the west is going to take it home again this year.

Thanks for the kind words.
If both make it that far it would be Belfry @ Russell in the semis. If that does occur you are correct Belfry would be the favorite by a couple of scores. Russell returns almost everyone from last year plus a few that weren't playing. Russell did lose by two TDs to Ashland where Belfry and Ashland to me are just about dead even. I had alot of trouble picking that game. Knew it would be low scoring. Both have alot of speed on defense.
The Belfry/Russell game last year, Russell could not figure out what they wanted to do on defense. It wasn't the same Belfry power wishbone attack and
Pruitt gave Russell fits.
Russell would have a chance against Belfry but they would have to play a near perfect game. They had their chances against Ashland earlier in the year but failed to capitalize on them.

FBALL is my idol... he says everything better than I could on every topic brought up.
I love seeing the "t 1." with Belfry as a fan, but I have said all along that there is a clear cut #1 (Central) and a clear cut #2 (Bell). Belfry, Breathitt, and PT are in a fairly even cluster the next rung down.

Everyone, including Belfry fans, are pointing out that Belfry should not be tied with Central and that the Yellowjackets deserve to be all by their lonesome atop the poll?

While Belfry did beat Ashland and Bell beat Layfayette but lost to Lex Cath a tie with Bell is in order but not with Central. If Belfry wins out and beats JC they would be clear for the no. 2 spot, even if Bell wins out. Dont bring up scimmage games its practice:dontthink
