Occupy Wall Street

Refresh my memory RV. Would that be the same party that Nancy Pelosi, the Clintons, Al Gore, and John Kerry belongs to?

RealVille, I know you addressed this to Hoot but I mean really. That was nothing but the ramblings of a rock (head) that is just skipping off the surface of the pond. Shallow and superficial doesn't quite cut it. There was a factually errant assumption in almost every sentence that he either started and didn't finish or even the ones he managed to close with some measure of connected thought. Take for instance he says that it's about time that Fox News addressed an issue that 99% of the people care about rather than the 1% that only conservatives care about, which in this case is obviously coverage of the Occupy Wall Street (Near Riots). You show me a nimrod in a funny hat and I'll show you a babe in wonderland every time. He isn't even aware of the verified fact that he, being a liberal, is a member of a group of politically aligned, well misaligned then, lost balls who comprise only 21% at the zenith of their wildest dreams of the voting populace.

He also brought up that Fox News was being investigated. If there was anything really glaringly obvious, like link to the Solyndra or say, the epic and now ledgendary "Fast and Furious" debacle of Eric Holder and his boss, the other networks would be airing it 24/7.

Seriously, was that supposed to be the finger of damnation or something?

50% of Americans pay NO taxes
#35
nky Wrote:yea ok That 1% pays the bulk of taxes why don't they pay their fair share?
No they don't.

Another lie from the left. 47 percent of the people in this country pay no federal income taxes whatsoever. The top 1 percent pay 38 percent of all federal income taxes that are paid each year and the top 5 percent pay more than 58 percent of the total paid. You belong to the party of freeloaders, whether you pay federal income taxes or not. Most Obama devotees pay no federal income taxes and these are the fools who are protesting that the rich do not pay their fair share.

TheRealVille Wrote:Yea. Donations came from people that stood up for workers, and not big business.
Unions are big business. How much of GM does the UAW now own thanks to our socialist president? How many hundreds of billions (trillions?) do big unions have invested in Wall Street?

TheRealVille Wrote:Yea. Donations came from people that stood up for workers, and not big business.

You just can't fathom in your little mind, that those entities are big businesses can you? All they want from you is your dues. Aint you smart enough to do your own negotiating RV, or do you feel uncapable for speaking for yourself and just letting your job performance speak for itsself? That's usually a sign of a worthless worker that needs protection for whatever reason it may be.

By the way, how about answering my previous question.

On a percentage basis, what do the top 1% pay compared to the rest of us, individually, not collectively?

then why isn't this occupy wall street group not going after the top donors if they think that the money is corrupting our politicians?

Hell yes, and proud. Though to you republicans, they are low life's because they don't agree with you.

from

The top-earning 5 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $159,619), however, still paid far more than the bottom 95 percent. The top 5 percent earned 34.7 percent of the nation's adjusted gross income, but paid approximately 58.7 percent of federal individual income taxes.

personally they're low lifes because they say one thing and do another

An infinite amount, on a percentage basis, more than the 47 percent who pay absolutely no federal income taxes. Obviously, to pay such a high percentage of the total, most of the top 1 percent are paying federal income taxes at the top marginal rate.

You are still quoting collective figures. On an individual basis, the middle pays a higher percentage of their gross.

Then they must belong to the "party of the rich" themselves? Is that what you are saying? Those are some of the richest people in Washington.

You really have a difficult time with these threads, dont you?Confusednicker:

yet 50% pays nothing, and the top 25% pays 67% of all income taxes.
The IRS can be a regressive tax to some degree unless your union has a good lobby effort and gets you more exemptions

No I don't. I expect them to have to pay their share too.

wouldn't that be a collective number?

I get the same exact exemptions as you.

TheRealVille Wrote:You are still quoting collective figures. On an individual basis, the middle pays a higher percentage of their gross.
No, they do not. Do the math. The ultra-rich, such as John Kerry Heinz, are able to avoid taxes by investing in tax free municipal bonds, setting up trust funds, sheltering their luxury yachts from state taxes, etc., but the wealthy pay the top marginal rate on a portion of their earned income, a rate at which the middle income group never pays.
#54
nky Wrote:wouldn't that be a collective number?
No. I'm talking individual numbers. Percentage wise, the average American pays more than the wealthy.
#55
TheRealVille Wrote:No I don't. I expect them to have to pay their share too.

Ah but yes you do struggle mightily.Confusednicker:

Then how come they dont pay their fair share? They represent you, the working man. Right?

And how about taking a stab at another question I asked. Are you and your job performance not able to stand on it's own merits?
#56
TheRealVille Wrote:I get the same exact exemptions as you.
nope I get some special ones

It's good to be wealthy huh?

Think about what you are saying and ask yourself how the rich can pay a far higher share of federal income taxes, relative to their respective incomes, and still pay a lower percentage of their income in federal income taxes.

If after taking all available deductions, a couple files a joint return and earned more than $379,150, then they will pay 35% of all income above that level in federal income taxes. They will pay tax rates on income below that level at rates from 10 percent through 33 percent. The highest marginal rate at which middle income level couples filing jointly and earning no more than $139,350 will pay at a top marginal rate of only 25%.

Personally I could careless what another American Pays in taxes or makes for that matter. It was the American Dream to be successful, self sufficient, and better yourself from your parents generation- I guess that doesn't hold true in 21st century America
