With Perry not in it, I have no interest in the Mnt Classic.

I look forward to the classic EVERY year no matter who is in it.
You're guaranteed some great Eastern Kentucky basketball and I'll definitely be covering every game

I have reached out to a few "sources" that all say you have nothing good to say about anything.

They also have some freshmen who might possibly see some playing time this season. So.... Harlan County is not down this year!!
If they improved from last year I could see them making noise.

I would like to have seen Perry play in it, but if I'm not mistaken they have a game. Maybe even Sheldon Clark or a team like that.

Does anyone know when the pairings will be released for the 2012 WYMT Mountain Basketball Classic that will take place over at Knott Co. Central High School in Hindman?

Perry Co Central is in the WYMT,only it is Randy Napier and the lady Commodores. Wymt will host its 1st ever girls game during the Classic. Perry Central against the Clay Co Tigers!

I agree Aslan, I had rather not see a girls game during a boys tournament. Bad move WYMT!

Knott and Harlan County are the best two teams in the tourney and in the same bracket. Im gonna predict Knott vs. Buckhorn in the finals with Knott winning their first WYMT Classic ever.

That's not nice OrangenowBlue! It matters to me because I don't want to see 50 fouls, 20 jump balls, 20 walks, and 100 freethrow's, before the boys game that I actually want to see. Which will start an hour later than it's supposed to because of a girls game dragging on and on! I'm not against girls basketball but I don't want it shoved down my throat either!

I think that is a testament to the inept local officiating than it is to girls basketball. If you are so confident that this is how things happen at every girls game, then just show up an hour late for the boys game and you will arrive right on time to watch the boys. I hardly believe that one game, probably starting before the boys, constitutes shoving something down your throat. Penn State has mastered the art of shoving things down people's throats.

I agree with everything you said especially the officials comment!
I equate this to when MTV started showing rap videos, I quit watching!
I might have to seek out to the mini mall or DQ during the girls game!

My recommendation is to go and hang out in the hospitality room and listen to all the pathological liars that we have in the 14th region. Since it is at Knott Central, they serve top notch food. None of that lunchroom garbage you get at Perry Central.

I think its a "classic" thing to do to have a girls game. Apparently some of you do not attend girls basketball games, or you would know that the girls are just as competitive as the boys, and I can safely say that the PCC girls could probably beat most of the boys' teams here in the 14th region. Not only will we get to see two top notch boys teams play that night, but we'll be able to see an oustanding girls game..of which one of the teams{PCC) is a state contender. Every person in the mountains should be happy about this, regardless of the team you're for....

Harlan County got a pretty good athlete in Cole Wilson this year. He played football last year but gave it up for basketball this year.

There is not ONE boys team PCC girls could beat!!! Nor any other girls team for that matter!

Well scratch that..
I'll take PCC girls over Riverside boys.
