He first went to Logan WV where Coach Hatcher's son is the coach but they would not allow him to enroll so he magically ends up at Perry Central. If you think this is strictly a coincidence I have some oceanfront in Beattyville to sell you.

Alright, George Strait.
Now why wouldn't Logan allow a player of his caliber to enroll?
09-12-2011, 03:03 PM
^ agreed, from what i hear it would take an idiot not to enroll him.

I have no idea about that!!! If i were a coach and this kid shows up im not let him leave til i know for sure he wouldnt be eligible. Thats a promise!!!
09-12-2011, 03:54 PM
I heard about the Logan HS thing to. But the reason he couldn't enroll from what i was told was due to a low gpa. Thats what I've heard though. Idk if theres any truth to it.

Not true, lets look back in time at when ben bowling practiced with the team then wasnt determined to be eligible so pcc was put under sanctions for two years.

I met the kid at pcc's football game friday. He was on the sideline in a jersey and sweat pants. Seemed like a really good kid. Has really long arms and big hands to, reminds me of a rondo type body. But he is staying at pcc for his senior season. So really they need to start making them region title shirts.

Wow, this is a fun thread to read. Anyways, it sounds pretty fishy to me as well but we'll let the KHSAA figure it out if needed. Without the comments from his previous coach it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but he had some strong words. Depends on if it was sour grapes or true though.

Jaysean's GPA is not good, which is probably why Logan didn't want him; however, a Niagara Falls player beat him to it so they probably couldn't make recruiting more OBVIOUS.
We all know recruiting has happened so stop pretending it didn't or that it is just the way you do things in Kentucky. We all know if Jaysean stays and plays and wins for Perry Central, no one will care about whether he has enough credits to graduate in the spring or whether he makes it to D1 because all you care about is your state title. Remember, he has to keep his grades up (I presume) in Kentucky and that could be a challenge for him.
I hope his mother makes it down there in time for the KHSAA investigation oh wait, posters have said it's just a formality so the rules and regulations apply according to whom you know. I guess the Hatchers are part of the in crowd.

Is it any different where he came from? So u can have failing grades and still play sports there?? If this kid is as talented as they say shouldnt someone at his school have him a tutor or something like that to help him. I know if i had a talented kid or any kid for that matter that was struggling as bad in the classroom as u say he was, i would get him help. I think i read where he played in the state championship game last yr in NY, was his grades that bad while he was playing then? Just wondering, because in ky the classroom comes b4 the sports!!!

NYS does require passing grades which some kids barely keep up during the season. When one is told what a superstar you are, somehow education is the last thing on the kid's mind. He has been told how important education is -- you can bring a horse to water but you can't make them drink.
Know enough about him.
Know enough about him.

^agree with what u r saying about the horse and water thing. The only way u can make some KIDS understand how important grades r to their future is to lose what they love most. Someone should have punished him during the season like maybe have him sit a couple of games. Most coaches wont do that because fear of losing games or losing the player. Sounds like the COACH was more concerned about winning a state title than seeing this kid make his grades.
As for the bold, is he really as good as they say he is????

Jaysean's papers for eligibility have been mailed in and the KHSAA should have a decision in by next week.
Will he keep his grades up?
I don't know
Where does his mom live?
I don't know
What is his favorite color?
I don't know
What was his favorite toy as a child?
I don't know
All I know is that by next week we'll know if he will suit up for football.
And that's all that matters

I dont think its anything to laugh about concerning a kids grade. If he struggles in the classroom then he may need special attention. Nothing to laugh about, IMO!!! I think talking about a kids grades on a website is a little to personnal.
