I believe you forgot Ryle as they are the #2 team in NKY per Cin Enq. SK will probably finish 3rd in their district.

I think you maybe forgetting Ryle as the Cin Enquirer has them #2 in NKY behind Highlands.

with most of the top rated teams in 6A all bunched in the Louisville area I believe that all around the 3A division will be the most competitive and diverse.

I believe your right. 1-10 in 3A is closer than in any other class. But 5A is the overall closest to me from top to bottom.

They were def my number 11 in 6A. They were in a tough battle for that 10 slot. If they start the season out good, they will move up.

Im surprised at how much difference there was in the Lex heralds 3A rankings from every one elses rankings.

1. Central (9-6) Jackets seek fourth title in five years.

2. Pad. Tilghman (11-3) J.D. Harmon Tornado's latest big-timer.

3. Mason Co. (10-2) Josh Harris, Tyler Black big-time talents.

4. Bell Co. (13-1) Cory Davenport is Bobcats' little big man.

5. Belfry (10-5) Philip Haywood 8 W's shy of tying state record.

6. Corbin (11-3) Redhounds jump from 2A to 3A contender.

7. Fort Campbell (5-7)Falcons, up from 2A, might reassert themselves.

8. Elizabethtown (4-8) QB Kyle Todd will air it out for Panthers.

9. Breathitt Co. (8-5) Bobcats trying to claw back as a contender.

10. Sheldon Clark (6-6) Cards have beaten Belfry 2 of last 3 times.

Dont get me wrong im happy to see Corbin that high as i live in Corbin and supposrt all Whitley County and Tri County teams, but im not so sure on this one...

I agree with 1-5 untill proven otherwise. belfry i worry about a little bit but they always seem to be good.so no argument there. sheldon clark, breathitt, and lawrence co i do not agree with.
*breathitt has by far the easiest district in the mountains and will always have a good record but there not good enough to be in the top 10 they do have some play makers just no line to let them make the plays. ive watched this with my own two eyes.
*sheldon clark was a good team last year and lost some key players but also return some. but if your going to put sheldon clark in there you also have to put pike central. pike central lost key players but already had these positions filled. they only had 3 ppl playing both ways last year which means more of them will have to play both ways but they still will be just as good if not better than last year.
* lawrence Co moves into one of the hardest if not the hardest district in the mountains. They were a good team last year but i dont see them matching up in this district.i think theyll end up 4th in the district.which means they should not make the 10 spot

Who are some other teams you think should be in there?
I obviously cant cover the whole state and know everything by myself so i like any input from anybody?
Who do you see as better teams than SC (who got Smith ruled eligible by the way), breathitt and Lawrence?

SC is going to be a good team and i think they deserve to be in there just maybe not 7 maybe 9 or 10 but thats just my opinion. i think pike central is a team that should be in there above all 3 of these teams had 8-2 record last year and beat SC. return QB Alan boggs and WR wes pugh who i think is the best deep threat in 3A.they also return alot of other key players. i pretty much think breathitt should go out of there and 7 should be pike central than corbin then SC than lawrence.

Can't believe that nobody has include Russell in there top ten. Russell came on strong in the playoffs last year knocking off Sheldon Clark and Pike County Central. They also return a lot of starters from last season. Not to mention that they are year to year a contender in the East.

Good points, but what all did they lose.

What's your concern with Belfry?

The Pirates return 7 starters on both sides of the ball from last year's State Runner-Up squad who matured at season's end to beat Somerset and Mason County (2 of the Top 3 teams in 3A last year). They have a 3 year starter at QB, a 1000 yard rusher back, and basically their entire starting O-line. On defense they return both LB's, both DE's, and possibly one of the Top 3 defensive players in the mountains in DB Josh Dixon. In addition, Belfry's phenomenal talent in their Freshman and Sophomore class from last year will have one more year of maturity. They have a Coach who will probably be the State's All-Time winner at the helm?

Granted, Belfry has the most difficult schedule in the mountains and will take some L's playing up in class against some good teams as well as playing 2A #6 Pburg, 1A #5 Pikeville, as well as the toughest 3A district in the state.

That is tough but dont forget whitley has Harlan Co., Bell Co., Boyle Co, Perry Co., and Clay Co.
I think that would be hard to top as far as toughest scedule in the mountains.
Gonna be a long year.....

Russell lost their quarterback everyone else either started at their position or at least started more then two games. Russell will be much better then last year.

Rockcastle had Knox Central, Bell, Boyle, Pulaski and Whitley County two seasons ago Sad I wanted to crawl into a hole when that schedule was released.

I feel your pain LWC.
The youngest and most experienced Whitley team ive ever seen with the toughest schedule ive ever seen at Whitley.
