i am a eagles fan and hit would be hard to beat mr towels he played the last two quartes with a bad ankle and still rain around and passed threw a good eagles team he won the game last year on a forth down play and limp off the field i dont think kyle bolin/ is a better qb.

I think that because I believe they have the best quarterback in the state in Kyle Bolin, with all due respect to Mr.Pike and Mr.Towels, and I think that and a defense that will be much improved can get the Knights over the hump against Boyle and win state. Just my opinion
No disrespect, but "much improved" isn't going to get it done against Highlands and maybe Boyle as well. Catholic will have to improve exponentially and hope Highlands and Boyle aren't as good as they were last year.
Just curious as to why you think Kyle is better than Pike and Towles? I'm not saying I disagree totally with what you're saying, but just interested to read your thoughts on that.

Johnson Central is a great team. They have a very talented running back/db that can take them a long way. However, they won't win state.

i beleave highlands would win state in what ever class they played in lot eagles fan wish they would go to 3 a or 5a get tired of meating theam but if u want to be the best u have to beat the beast

Hard to read what you said. Throw me a bone here.
However, Highlands would not win 6A. Trinity is not only one of the best teams in the state, but in the country as well. Trinity would beat any team in the state by 3 touchdowns or more, IMO.
You may be right about Johnson Central winning 5A if it wasn't for Highlands. Can't go by "IF's" though. If if's and but's were candy and nuts, wouldn't it be a merry christmas? So like you said, to be the best you have to beat the best.

what does Western have coming back from last year? They made some noise last season

Best in the west should be Loan Oak, Franklin Simpson, or Owensboro.

I believe it is Highlands to lose. No disrespect to Boyle. I felt like last year they were a better team than Highlands. I know I will be drilled over this comment, but that is my opinion. Would love to have seen a game between them last year!!

I'll go out on a limb with you. I agree with you. I believe they were better last year and that Boyle County could have gave the 09' team all they wanted, as well. It's ashame they didn't get too play the last two years. Now Boyle County is trying to reload and get these kids ready for a talented Highlands team. So I agree with the overall comment you made. 4A is Highland's to lose. Can't wait til the first game.

Do you think either a win or very strong showing by Highlands against Trinity will have an effect on Boyle County. I personally tend to think it could. However the opposite could be said if Highlands were to be beat soundly by Trinity. If it's like last year both teams will play to win this game.

Highlands plays at Boyle wk 0. So I don't think any of highlands games will effect Boyle except that one.

I agree. A scrimmage is nothing. Neither team will show a whole lot. Boyle County won't be affected on the outcome of the Highlands/Trinity scrimmage.

JCHS was just lucky it was the first game of the season. Otherwise, the score wouldn't had been so close. Also, the game wasn't as close as the score said. As for the Boyle County defense last year, it has absolutely nothing to do with this year's defense. Imo, two totally defense's. Last year has nothing to do with this year.

As for Boyle County playing players both ways, there are only a couple of players who get to play both ways, if that.

I'm afraid that is probably going to increase this year and really increase next year.

You're probably right. I hate to say it but the classes are seemingly weak for the next few years.

Last year has nothing to do with this year.If I recall correctly, it was the first game for Johnson Central's offense as well as for Boyle County's defense. I also recall a few Boyle County fans boasting before that game that there was no way that Jude would rush for 100 yards in that game yet he averaged just over 6 yards a carry in piling up 127 yards in the game.
And yes, the game was as close as the final score indicated. JC led 8-7 after the first quarter, trailed by 7 at the end of the half, trailed by 7 at the end of 3 quarters, and lost by 7. I doubt that many people who watched the game would agree with you that the game was not as close as the score indicated. Nobody knows how a game between Johnson Central and Boyle County would have ended had the two teams played later in the season. JC appeared to match up better with Boyle than it did with Bell County and Highlands did not put the Golden Eagles away until the closing seconds of the regional finals game.
Obviously Boyle County improved as the season progressed but it is just as obvious that Johnson Central was a much better team at the end of the season than at its start. To say that JC was lucky that it got to play Boyle the first game of the season is ridiculous.

And to say that Johnson Central was two missed tackles away from winning the game isn't ridiculous? Obviously you didn't make that statement, but cut me some slack here. Boyle County was up 36-22 very late in the game before Johnson Central got a lucky score. Either way, the outcome ended a Rebels victory. There is no point in arguing over last year so I'm just going to let it end here.

There is really no reason to think that a game between JC and BC late last season would not have been as close, if not closer, than the first one. Both teams finished strong against some stiff competition. But like you said, a new season will begin in a few weeks and last season's results won't matter.

why didnt jchs and boyle play this year
07-11-2011, 02:23 AM
i believe one of the touch downs that was made on a miss tackle jchs jk hall was on the side line with cramps boyle ran a touch down but still the eagles team has got better ever year because in the past jchs wouldnt even been close in any game with a team like boyle county or highlands every body noes that alot of teams wont even step on the field to play boyle or highlands

Johnson Central has softened up its early season schedule considerably this year, which suggests that they are expecting it to take some time to fine tune the offense and give the new faces on defense some time to jell before getting thrown into the frying pan. I expect that this season will be similar to 2009, when JC started pretty slowly but entered the playoffs firing on all cylinders.
