OrangenowBlue Wrote:You are exactly right. Kendall Noble was a relatively " unknown" until she come to Perry Central. She played on a "pitiful" Breathitt County team for four years before transferring and she and her team achieved "so much more" success at PCC. I am sure she never got a single letter from a college until the transfer. :lmao:
Did I say Breathitt was pitiful?
No
Were they going to win a state title?
No
Do they have a coach thats a proven winner with a ring?
No
Would playing under Randy Napier at PCC better prepare her to play college ball?
IMO Yes
I don't know why she transferred.
I'm just speculating.

The transfer rules only apply if the student is in High School, not Middle School. A Middle School athlete can play Varsity High School sports for as long as they want, and then go any High School with no repercussions. Once in High School, the moving part can be questionable if not for legitimate reasons and could be considered illegal per State rules.
She's gonna be a Senior this year

because the future of these girls definitely takes second place to their hometown winning a few more games.

Rockcastles state championship team was made up entirely of local girls, no transfers. Look it up Altocat. They won an aau 10u championship in 5th grade. The Burton girl joined them in the 6th grade, so the 6 seniors have been together that long. They went 73-3 during their middle school years. It's a shame teams have to recruit players but the Rock got their long awaited championship the right way and they will always be able and proud to say that!

I would rather have a few more wins and a deep tourney run on my resume than a few more pats on the back at Walmart.

Might as well squash all the state championship talk. PCC will not win a state championship, IMO. Not athletic enough to competewith the DuPont Manuals, etc.

There are much better examples to use other then Manual. How about using other basketball programs in Louisville and throughout the state that actually win state titles.

Someone says there are some parents upset at PCC !! The kids who have played there the last few years now will bet sitting on bench .....unhappy parents

I know for a fact that Rockcastle had NO transfers on the 2010-2011 Roster, and Yes, all six seniors had played together since 5th grade. All 13 players on the roster have grown up on Rockcastle county and attended school since kindergarten. NOW that's HOME GROWN!

When you mention HOMEGROWN in Perry County, the first thing that comes to their minds is where to buy the rolling papers. LOL.

It's pathetic how jealous most of you are that kids want to transfer into Perry and play instead of coming to your school, go ahead and face facts that Perry probably won't lose a game in the mountains this year and not many games will be close. I know you all are gonna say it's not jealousy but everyone knows that's what it is.

That nay be the case for others but not Smith. Mason County is looked t by colleges more than PCC for the sole reason of being in the 10th region. But her dad works at PCC so there's nothing the KHSAA can say.

My school is nowhere close to the 14th region or PCC. But what I'm seeing and hearing frustrates me. I'm definitely not jealous because PCC won't be using these outsiders to beat the hell out of my team this year. It frustrates me because the other schools in the region may think that they could have won it if everybody in the region would play with their own girls. Hell, if Noble never transferred from Breathitt, they could be going for their 6th regional title in a row! I'm just feeling for the neighboring schools because I know what it's like to get the heck beat out of you by a team full of "transfers".

You just made my point for me. There are a bunch of schools that will expose PCC at an elite level.

You're right it is a shame that teams have to recruit players. It's not just Perry County Central that does this, that is if PCC does recruit players. I know that many people in the Louisville area are sick and tired of the private schools recruiting players in not just girls basketball, but every sport. If you are a really good athlete in Shelby, Oldham, Spencer, or Bullitt Counties, or even if you live in southern Indiana, you can be sure that at least one of the private schools in Louisville will try to get you to come play for them. It happens all the time here. A couple of years ago, Antonita Slaughter, who now plays for Louisville, played on the varsity team at Shelby County as an 8th grader. Well, her freshman season she transferred to Christian Academy. I believe that if she had not left Shelby County that SC would have won at least 1 state championship while she was there. It wasn't like she left because she was going to be the only good player because they had some really good teams after she left. Also, this year a young lady at Collins started on the varsity basketball team as and 8th grader. She played on the Louisville Lady Jaguars AAU team, one of the best around. The coach of that team is the assistant coach at Mercy. Next year she will be leaving Collins to go play at Mercy. In the Sentinel-News this week it said that an 8th grade point guard that played varsity at Collins will be going to Trinity next year, to play with at least 2 other kids that live in Shelbyville but go to Trinity to play basketball. There countless examples of kids transferring to private schools in Louisville. Everyone in the Louisville area knows that the private schools recruit kids, but there is nothing that can be done about it.

And it is a funny thing that a public school has won the state tournament the last two years. Assumption was the last private school to win state I think.

Exactly. I don't understand why players want to go there, unless they go to Trinity to play football. Instead of staying in the 8th Region where they have a chance at making state every year players want to go over to the 7th region where they might not even make it out of district.

Good thing they turned down the vote to separate public and private schools. I bet they are kicking themselves for not voting with for it.

In girls basketball Mercy Academy won it in 2010. Mercy is a private Catholic school in Louisville. Assumption girls have not won it in a very long time.

Yes they did. They also won the volleyball state championship and were state runner-up in softball. They had a great year in all sports last year.

8 out of last 12 years have been private schools and Assumption has never won a state title. KHSAA is a wonderful source of information.

I know all the Rockcastle County high school girls that got significant time were together since middle school. I can't remember any farther back than that.
I know for a fact that Abney, Hammond, Lawrence and Arvin, were in Rockcastle for their whole lives because the first 3 had siblings that I was in school with and Arvin's dad and grandpa were my doctors growing up. Other than that, I cannot say without a doubt, but I believe all are Rock born and bred, lol.
