The way Powell has been playing they could handle KCC with ease and that's no joke. Powell chased Estill's best pitcher out of the game in the 3rd inning and alot of people thought that powell would hit him that good

That is saying alot when these 2 haven't played each other.
Hopefully they will get to play each other and see how it goes.
Let's not give it to Powell just yet.

6 of Powell's 8 Losses came within 1 or 2 Runs each game. they lost to Prestonsburg by 6 and Bourbon County by 10. They should have beat Lawrence County, Spring Valley WV, LCA, Johnson Central and Bourbon County (Apr. 30th Game). If they hadn't lost those close games they would have went from March 30th to May 20th without a loss that's 25 Games. They could easily be 30-2 Right Now. I'm not taking up for them because Estill and Powell doesn't get along that well all I'm saying is that come Region Time there gonna be a tough out, can it happen? yes they can be beat, the announcers even said they can be beat during the district championship game last night. but they should win Region. The Scary part is that Powell only loses 5 players from this year's team. They should win Region next year. they will have there Slugger in David Hayes back along with several good pitchers

Powell also lost 8-2 to Paintsville on 4/29. Good teams are going to play each other close and the team that makes the plays will win those close ones. Can't play the "if" or "should have won" game because that is baseball and it is decided on the field and not on paper. A little luck never hurts either.
I agree Powell would be the favorite at this point, based on last year's Region Tourney and this years performance, but I don't think anyone, even in Powell County, would say they are going to walk thru this Region. I wish Powell would look at it that way but I don't see their Coach letting that thought even enter their head. They are a very solid team and someone will have to play well to beat them, but IMO Hazard and Knott are 2 teams that are more than capable of beating them.

^ No You can't go by what's on paper, it has to be played out and like you said the team that makes the plays will win. Powell's goals were to win District and win Region and make it to state. there Radio announcers were talking about that the other night. Yes Hazard and Knott are about the only one's that can beat them but anyone can be beaten on any given night. Alot of people except Breathitt County thought that Wolfe would be Breathitt for the District Title but Wolfe had errors, Breathitt capitalized on them and won.

I heard the same thing about the Breathitt/Wolfe game. If you give teams extra outs they will usually come back to hurt you.

^ That's true. seen it happen and heard it happen many times
