Coach Turner is a good one!

You prove yourself by winning big games at tourney time. At least be competitive. At least 4 other coaches deserved COY more this year.

He also smacked Perry for about 30 pts 4 years ago with a team that was a lot less talented.
He's had Matt Day and some decent role players over the last few years but nothing to make a run at the title with.
I wouldn't have given him COY if it was up to me but IMO you can't argue that he had a fine case for the award as well.

Word is Bentely is out in Estill...shocked me when i heard because of the season they had, but apparently there was a scandal involving a cheerleader...just a rumor...but it came from reliable sources.
#34
^OMG lol... poor Bentley.. Hate to hear that.
#35
Stuff like this doesn't need to be put on here if it's just a RUMOR. Coach Bentley has done a great job this season and is a up and coming young coach so to get on here and post rumors isn't the right thing to do.
#36
^ I agree to an extent....
but if anyone would do something like that a post on BGR would be the least of their worries.
#37
Jon Bentley has to much class and is to smart to get involved with a dang cheerleader. Dont try to ruin his reputation. Jons a class act.

Jon Bentley done a great job this season. He's a friend of mine and I haven't heard of anything like this. Bentley is a good up coming coach in the mountains. I don't see this being true.

This kind of post has to stop Coach Bentley is a class guy and who ever started this should be put of this sight. :thanks:

Coach Bentley isn't out.
#42
GuardtheBall I don't know why you commented on my post I was saying people don't need to be putting stuff like this on here either. Me and Coach Bentley are good friends and I support him 100%.:Clap:

I heard Raymond Justice was retiring and gonna come to Perry Central as an assistant coach and bring his son with him. This will give Perry the best BACKCOURT in the Mountains with an 8th grader and a Freshman. Anyone heard about this????????

Please don't post things like that. Chances are the alleged cheerleader in is more than likely a minor, and things like that don't need to be discussed. If another mod or admin comes behind me and says it is okay, by all means go ahead, but I'm sure they will say the same. Just say there is a scandal or a rumor, and if people want more info, send Private Messages. Don't put this in open forum.

That goes for anyone on here because the rumor alone could get nasty, and we want some type of decorum on this site.

Guardtheball, mods and admins will decide who should be here and who should not.

Partially true..

Wrong school. Right region.
#46
This is true from what I hear, headed for the 14th region definitely, but afraid it's going to be at Knott Central, not Perry. BB King is done their and Justice is coming to help out Coach Honeycutt who is going to take over the boys their. Should be interesting.
#47
Why would Justice leave a head coaching position to become an assistant coach. I had heard that he was going to Knott but I assumed it was in a head coaching capacity???? May be true, God knows I've seen weirder things happen but it just doesn't make sense to me.
#48
Don't know why Justice would either. To me he will always be a head coach not a assistant.

He will have an administration type job.

Welcome Coach Justice and Cameron! :Cheerlead

Coach Honeycutt will not be taking over the boysat Knott Central. If Raymond comes he will be helping BB.
#51
Now that makes a little more sense to me. I can see Raymond taking a higher paying position in administration and helping B.B. but not Honeycutt. I guess Raymond has to start looking at retirement and an administration job will definitely boost his bring home pay as compared to a head coaching position. I do know that Kim King was the one that brought Raymond to Letcher County so it makes sense in her bringing him in at Knott County to work with her brother-in-law. All I know is that putting Cameron with Braxton along with the existing players at Knott makes for a very good basketball team next year in Hindman. If Braxton and Cameron really get together your looking at the regional champion for several years to come. I know all of this is just rumor but it is an intriguing one for sure.

Heard this might be Brian Halls last year at powell
#53
B.B. did a good job at Knott this year so I don't see him going anywhere and Coach Bentley did a great job at Estill as well so I don't see him going anywhere unless he get a better offer. He will be a hot comodity very soon.

Did a great job, but he also has other jobs that he is responsible for and don't think he has time for the busy schedule. I believe Justice will be the Principal at the Alternative school, so Honeycutt could very well be the replacement for King.

I hate to hear that. I've known B.B. for a long time. He's a good coach and he could sure play the game back in his day.
#56
BB is the Head Coach at KCC, and will remain so.. I don't think they will EVER try Honeycutt again..
#57
Leave Coach Honeycutt out of the Knott Central boys saga. He doesn't want the Knott boys job. B.B. did a good job and if he wants Coach Justice to help him that would be great.

Who are you kidding? Who wouldn't want to coach the boys instead of the girls? You have to be nuts if you think he didn't want it. :please:

Coach Sizemore from Leslie I believe is calling it quits. Coach Collett may step over from the girls and take his shot at the boys job.

I have also heard that Coach Hall is leaning towards getting out at Powell County and that Coach Hatcher (who is always looking to be closer to his family) is trying to get the job in Virginia at a new school that is starting. Also Coach Hammonds has one more year left on his 3 year deal at Letcher to win the region or I'm sure he will be shown the door.
