14th Region Coaching Changes
#1
Does anyone know of any coaching changes that will likely be taking place this offseason?

Rumor has it that Doug Noble could be on his way out of Breathitt Co. I don't agree with this move if it is true. Coach Noble done a great job with a young team this season and return all of those kids next year. Not to mention that his son was the best player on the team and I don't think he would be playing at Breathitt after his dad gets let go.

I have also heard that Coach Danny Wright is thinking about taking some time off from coaching. If he does decide to do this it would really hurt Lee Co. Coach Wright has put his heart and soul into that program for a long time and done some great things.

Someone told me that Al Hollon might be out at Hazard for some reason. I can't think of what that reason would be other than just not wanting to coach anymore because he is a proven winner and has nothing to prove to anyone.

If you have heard any other rumors post them on here.

It would be a shame if Doug was fired at Breathitt. He has done a great job with the kids and will have one heck of a team in the years to come.

Possible changes:
Knott- Don't think BB thinks the highschool coaching was all he thought it was(Justice from East Ridge would have to be the front runner)

Hazard- Coach Holland has had a terrible year on and off the floor, way to many problems and I'm sure is not very happy. Look for Principal Happy Mobilini to take over at the reigns.

Perry- Hatcher has finally won a Region, but everyone is always looking for him to leave and move closer to his family, just a possibility. Look for Denny Fugate to make a return if that happens.

Breathitt- Coach Noble beat district rival Wolfe all 3 games this year, but the Bobcat faithful is never happy, so it's always possible for a new coach in Breathitt county. Look for former Coach Steve Banks to be back in the picture.

Lee- coach wright has done a great job but needs some time off with his family. I look for him to step down and someone else take over.

Owsley-coach davidson has had a long year and I'm sure is wanting out of the coaching profession altogether. Look for Tyson Gross to take over for the Owls, or possibly Tony Burch.

I believe that is all the changes that are possible, don't think they will all happen, but some are very possible!

i didn't know there was talk about him leaving?

Tony Burch at Owsley, what a joke, but really couldn't do much worse of a job than the other 2, Davidson or Gross.

Just a thought, but I could see Holland going to Letcher Central if him and Hazard split ways.

 I've been hearing that since December. Not sure if it will happen but it has been the talk for a while now.

Won a district that was possibly the weakest in the state that year,, 3 year record of 25 wins 48 losses any other questions?

We won a state title last year.
Perry was in a position to win their game and Bell County only lost their game by 2.
Stop hating because you picked 2 different teams to come out of the 14th Region and you were wrong twice Smile

You can really tell the great fans. Catsman10 is a real student of the game. The 3 season before Davidson & Gross took over the program was 16 and 63, with older talented players. They since have one a district. This year they had to play freshman and sophomores to make sure program was able to compete again. It probably was no the most popular choice but most would agree it had to be done. If you feel you could be better I would say coach might let you try since you could do such a great job. Great post Davidson will still be coaching.

and next year they may win 5 games, if they can get Riverside on their schedule again, or maybe June Buchanan's junior high team again.

You can say what you want catsman10 maybe you can come coach. Sounds like you are a real professionial. This coaching staff works there kids as hard as any or maybe you can give them some advise. Wold say only a couple great inspirational words and thise freshman and sopohmores will grow right up and play like seniors and juniors should. I say with a good summer this team will be fine. Or maybe cats man10 can at least come seat in stands and the greatestness will rub off. It is the people that workthrough hard times that get better not the ones that up and move.

Why would you replace Doug Noble with Steve Banks. What did Steve Banks accomplish while he was at the helm? A couple of district titles. If Doug Noble is going to be replaced then he needs to be replaced by a proven coach. This years team was very young and If Doug Noble is given a chance good things will happen down the road. Not to mention Coach Noble's son is going to be a beast.

Just a thought out there and I really don't see it happening. If some of these bigger named programs part ways with their coach, do you think John Noble of Buckhorn would be a potential candidate to go after. Buckhorn will be a top 2-3 team next season but after that they will be down with graduation. Just a thought!

If Noble wants to prove himself he will definitely have to get out of Buckhorn.
He has some talent that comes through their but 99% of the talent in Perry County goes through Hazard and PCC.

He's had enough talent to prove himself the last couple of years. He's lost to Leslie by 18, Perry by 18, and Perry by 12 in first round of district the last 3 years. You prove yourself by winning big games at tourney time. At least be competitive. At least 4 other coaches deserved COY more this year.

I heard Assistant Perry Central Coach Shannon Hoskins was going to get the Prestonsburg coaching job. He sure will be what the Burg has been needing for several years.
