Is that the sophomore?

Anyways, the few posters on this thread from Belfry represent exactly whats wrong with Belfry. Your comments revolve around football, and your fan support last night was the worst of the 8 teams in the region tourney. Keep worrying about your football while the rest of us get well rounded athletic programs......your fans, students, parents, teachers, and administrators only care about football.

My Hawks are catching you in football, passing you by in the rest.

GO HAWKS!!!!

I missed on this one.

So one Belfry fan says something ridiculous, and you lump all of them in the same pile?? I'm really not sure which statement is more asinine.

You're not catching us in football...you've not won a Region title in basketball (Belfry has 3 albeit 20 years ago)...the Belfry baseball program stands higher than anyones in the county school system...girls basketball is competitive & I"ll even give the edge to PC...girls volleyball goes to Belfry in a landslide.

There you have it, congratulations, the girls basketball program has achieved slightly more accolades than Belfry. Sleep well tonight.:eyeroll:

Poor, poor performance from a Belfry team that a lot of people expected more out of. Towards the end there was more ME basketball than team basketball and I never thought I'd see that out of this group.

Horrible chemistry.

You are somewhat correct, in your response to my first post.

Your administrators will not hire quality coaches to replace ones that leave, unless it is for football.

Volleyball coach?

Girls Basketball?

Softball?

What are you going to do when/if your boys basketball and baseball coaches leave?

The 3 that I just posted has been replaced in the last year by ....guess what, football coaches or their wife....
#22
Congrats BL. Great team ball by everyone.
#23
In the second half of this game, you seen the Betsy Layne team that won state. They controlled the boards, was very patient on offense but they played locked down defense. If they play like they did in the second half, I think it will take a **** of a effort to beat the Bobcats!
#24
WTG Bobcats prob. the best 32min. I've seen out of you guys this year...

Betsy Layne may be well on there way to the Boys' Sweet Sixteen.
#26
Congrats BL

Awesome game as I predicted from Adkins and Rez, The first of season coaches tried the box and 1 on Martin and they eventually found out it only opens up the Middle for the big Men. Absolutely roughest game I've seen without foul trouble being an issue. One game at a time.

The least I can do is try to be nice considering SkyHawk gave me quite the chuckle this morning after just now reading his post.

Catching Belfry in football? Are you serious? How can you post something so comical without at least a smiley icon? My friend, PC has come a long way since the 60 pt beatings they used to take but catching Belfry in football is a little larger than just playing them close in 2009 and hanging around for a little over a half in 2010. IMO I have witnessed two of the least talented Pirate football team over the last two years, which BTW is about to change drastically, and without a doubt watched the two most talented PC teams still fail to make a dent in the 0-17+ record they have accrued against Belfry in the existence of PC. So if that convinces you that PC is "catching" Belfry and it helps ease the pain then Im happy for ya.

Now on to Belfry basketball. It makes me sick to watch, read or hear about the demise of this program. A once proud program IMO is no more. No fan support, lack of leadership and the underlying cause only points to the administration and their blind eye to the steps that need to be taken. Coach Casey is a good man and a really good assistant but a head coach he is not. At what point do things change? At what point does Principal Varney and the powers that be wake up and realize that this program has a very storied history that has been smeared by the shortcomings of a coaching staff that cannot get it done. I've all but given up on ever seeing the glory days of Pirate basketball revived and it saddens THIS former player to the upmost.

Skyhawk, to answer your question about losing/replacing our basketball or baseball coach. I believe the majority of us are ready for a change and would accept it no matter who the replacements would be.

for this game at least the problem was ball control.. no true point guard was the weakness that BL exploited...

also, i think J. Pinson looked thinner this year for Belfry. perhaps the weight loss negatively impacted his game (i.e rebounding, endurance)..

#34 for Belfry did a good job on the boards ..
#30
Casey needs to go.
