Wow some interesting first round games. Could make for some interesting second round as well.
#4
Interesting possible 2nd round game between Rockcastle and Owensboro Catholic. I know Rockcastle has been the mountain favorite and Owensboro won the state All A classic. Going to be a great tournament.
#5
Gonna be some very good games to watch this year. Alot of good match-ups.
#6
Top half of this bracket is ridiculously loaded. Going to be some great games.
#7

Don't want to still your thunder, but this is how I think it will go also with the exception of NCC and Calloway.

I think Clay Co. will beat Owensboro Catholic.

That's a tall task. OC won the All A and is playing pretty good ball right now. IMO the lower bracket will be the hardest to get out off.

Owensboro is playing to good right now
#13
Butler is to small to stop Predator Rankin and Kendall. Perry has a chance to beat everyone they play. The thing about it is, the teams they play are just as good or a little better than them. Perry will need some L U C K. Good luck girls. You have one **** of a season. I sure am glad the Basketball Gods just dropped Kendall down from the sky.
#14
Good luck to all especially Sheldon Clark. Represent the 15th ladys.
#15
I don't think a lot of these people especially in the Northern or Western Part of the state know a great deal about the teams from the mountains and I'm here to tell you, Perry Central has very good guards and are physical down low... They have a chance to go deep into this tournament.
#16
Does the Eastern part of the state truly respect how good the Louisville area and Western Kentucky teams are?
#17
I'm going with Perry Co Central vs Rockcastle Co in the Sweet 16 Championship game!

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON

I think Perry will have an excellent shot at winning it all next year. Especially when the big girl moves in to Perry County that is supposed to be coming. Back at the 1, Noble at the 3, Predator at the 4, and with a 6'2 Center. Look out. Also hear Katie Moore and Brook Sharpey may be coming over. Cant wait to see them in Red/Black

OC struggled to beat Daviess in the District Final, didn't play well against Grayson. Clay has some good guard play, and big inside. Looking at the bracket the Top half is by far the toughest to get out of. Rockcastle should have no problem getting to Saturday Morning and should be playing Saturday Night.
#21
^ But OC won. That's all that matters isn't it.

I'd say the upper bracket is tougher.

The amazing thing about Rockcastle County is that only 3, maybe 4 of the players on the present team will play basketball in college, although a couple more have been approached by a college or two. NO TRANSFERS from other programs, only girls who grew up in Rockcastle County. The real measure of an all-star is how much he/she makes his/her teammates better. That's very rare. This team personifys what high school basketball, especially in the commonwealth, is all about, and whether or not they win the sweet sixteen cannot take that away from them. The girls are honor students, involved in clubs like Operation UNITE, are just as excited about being invited to perform in Washington, DC with Operation Unite as they are about playing in the sweet sixteen, and realize that basketball is a game to have fun, compete and learn about life. They know that the game is a means to an end, not an end in itself. As a group and as part of the community this group will be talked about in years to come, but their legacy is yet to be determined as each takes their part in making our community a better place.

warmachine,Sounds like what the entire state of Kentucky was complaining about when they said Lex.Cath was getting all their players from surrounding areas.I believe the shoe fits here doesnt it?Maybe an investigation needs to be rendered(so many people transferring to one school)and we call that sportsmanship.I wouldnt be so brash to announce it with such proudness. And you should win it all next year since the entire state will be down due to all the best players comming to PCC/WHY-you wont have a team to play against all season/Districts/Regionals/or STATE.Might as well give you the trophy for 2011-2012 this year at Bowling Green.

I think you must have your bracket upside down there are 5 teams ranked in the top 10 in the upper bracket

ROCKETTOWN: You said a mouth full-Im "OLD FASHIONED" and I know it-Buttttt I too believe that a TRUE championship team is comprised of the (homegrown) players that have waited their time and chance/have busted their behinds to get a spot on the roster/have spent endless hours beyond the regular practice time/have seeked advice
and "how to" from their coaches and parents/and "DREAMED" and "DREAMED of the moment to showcase the work and dedication they have diligently sworn in their hearts-to the population in their city and county-and to hear the cheers and congratulations
from the townfolk.THEN and only THEN can your SCHOOL say we have a TRUE BLOOD CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM.And then YOU can say there is sincere PRIDE in OUR Community.

Bluemoon,
In all honesty, I believe in everything you said above. I agree 100%. I could care less about the transfer stuff as well. Win with what you got, lose with what you got. But if you were the head coach at Perry Central and lets say Sara Hammond came up to you and said, I am thinking about moving to Hazard, would you be interested in having me on your team? Come on, who would turn down Sara Hammond or a player like her.
I hope Rock does good though. Mount Vernon is a very small town and its a big accomplishment to win a championship with a small group of kids to choose from. Hard work pays off. Seems like everyone is looking for the easy way out these days.

Warmachine,
I hear what you are saying, and NO I would not turn down a Sara Hammond.
But-when 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and on and on turns up at my door-could I not expect people to wonder"whats going on here".I honestly dont mean to start a battle here.Like I said Im old fashioned and feel the way I feel. And I also know this is true for everyone else.Im still waiting to hear a crowd yell back at each other" I've got spirit yes I do I've got spirit-how bout you" :Cheerlead. But I know better-times have changed and Im in the twilight zone-but its still alot of fun here and I hope to see some of you here with me soon.(chuckle)NO NO there I go again-I mean LOL.
