Owen Co should win alot of games this year. They have a very winable District.
Owen has lighten up their pre-District schedule, which I think is a bad idea, but that is only my opition.
Best of Luck!!!!

have to agree with Old Henry Man here. they should win alot, but indeed have watered down the pre-district schedule which i do not understand. Why not beef up the pre-district schedule as much as possible for better post-season playoff preparation? why did Owen drop Henry Co from schedule? wasn't that a rivalry game with good tradition?

Well really not a bad idea to do the schedule this way at a school like Owen, Teach the kids how to win first, its a process....Henry County folks are just upset that none of the schools in the area want to play them now....... Old Henry Man, Henry should beef up its schedule and not worry about Owen.

Thanks to Owen, Carroll, Gallatin, Eminence and Trimble, Henry has beefed up their schedule, Woodford Co, Shelby Co and Bullitt Central.
Owen plays Western Hills, but not Henry Co ????

Owen Co should have one of the better teams they have put on the field in quite some time.
The Sophomores will be Juniors and the Williams kid is a heckva player.
The next 2 years, Owen should win their District.

I am not familiar with who all Henry played against in pre-district games in 2010, but it must've been pretty bad if adding Woodford Co, Shelby Co, and Bullit Central is considered "beefing up" the 2011 schedule. Yes, if you go by size classification, I guess 3A Henry is "beefing up" by playing two 5A opponents (woodford, bullit central), and one 4A opponent (shelby), but also take in account that Woodford was 1-9 in 2010 and lost to Western Hills, Shelby Co was 1-9, a combined 2-18. Bullit Central was decent I guess, but got thrashed 42-7 by Anderson Co (a team that Henry beat in 2010) in 2nd round of playoffs. best of luck to both the Rebels and Wildcats in 2011! Rivalry games are good for football, and it seems as though Owen could compete with Henry in the coming years, BRING BACK THE RIVALRY!

You made a very good point, Owen could compete with Henry the next 2 years.

Actually Shelby County is a 5A team as well.

I agree. It is kind of sad. Because even though in recent years Henry has been dominant, the upcoming senior classes for both schools have always played each other very tightly all through middle school and JV seasons. Henry always squeaked by with a W. So i would think Owen county would want to give these kids a chance to go out with a W agains HC. Just my thoughts...

Owen has some good running backs.
Who will be their QB? They need someone to get the ball to Williams.

I agree with Whats-Its, Owen Co is a place that has not been used to winning. Why not start out by teaching the kids how to win?
I think Coach Fowler will lead this year's Rebels to at least a District Championship!!!

Does anyone know why Owen Co dropped Casey?
Or who they are planning on replacing them with?
