At LCC homecoming festivities several players as well as homecoming attendants were announced as being from Jenkins! It's just a short matter of time till Jenkins High School goes the way of the Edsel!

What positions is Steve Hollbrook coaching for them. He is a great guy and coach.

Jenkins has good coaches, they are just in a squeeze with numbers and LCC in thier back door, tough situation.

Who are these two new players that moved in. Maybe a pair of brothers? One a freshman and one a senior?
01-26-2011, 05:01 PM
They win 4 games in 2011

I don't see that at all. Who are they going to beat, seriously? Jenkins has got to learn to at least be competetive first, in which they were not last year at all. If they would have lost a few close games last year I might agree but to get beat by 40+ a game, I cannot forsee 4 wins.

Then why did you start this thread "Will Jenkins improve in 2011?" You ask for poster's opinion just lead them into an argument and chance to take a shot at the Jenkins program. :dontthink

I would like to see Jenkins improve! They have gotten a new Principal who was teaching at Pikeville. I have talked to her and she plans to do everything to make Jenkins a fun and better place for the kids and staff. She is excited to get to work there she says. She should start there anywhere from next week to the middle of next Month.

That's the good news I suppose.

I have been impressed with Coach Maggard who has kept up numbers and team morale despite repeated losses for a long period of time. It is hard not to hope they find a win or two.

I agree. This has been the most numbers I have see Jenkins in a long time. Hopefully they will win more games in class A.

He kept the numbers up by dressing the middle school on friday night.

On the bright side they'll make the playoffs

Is that legal by KHSAA rules? I am sure he did not play them but can you even dress them?

No this is not the case. Please refrain from making ridiculus posts!

Rome was not built in a day. Jenkins will make a come back.

They'll win a game or 2, but they need to keep their heads up and focus on the long term
02-12-2011, 12:02 PM
If they get a new coach, they may win 2
06-30-2011, 12:50 AM
What's the numbers looking like this season for Jenkins? In all honesty they should have a shot of winning a couple games this year.
06-30-2011, 01:43 PM
Jenkins has had to rebound from pretty much "nothing". The former principal was "anti-football" and made it hard on the football team. Nobody wanted to coach either the high school or the feeder teams. Boys transferrd to LCC because Jenkins did not care if it had a football team at that time. Now Larry Maggard is pulling it back together but it will take some time. He didn't step in and ruin a good team--he stepped into pretty much no team and has to build it from the ground up. Jenkins will once again be a football supporting school.
