Finally Holmes won a game like they should. This is a Scott team who has beaten some decent teams, but they are far from being a good Brad Carr team

Far from being a good Brad Carr team?! Scott came in to this game as the #4 team in nky, on a 5 game win streak, and owned wins over Dixie, Boone, and Campbell Co during that streak.
Holmes was simply too quick and athletic for them, much like Henry Clay was.
As for the Hayes v Smith match up. I'll take Hayes all day, every day. The comparison between him and Smith head to head isn't even close. 8 stls by Hayes speaks for itself. Smith had just 9 points before getting to the line several times against Holmes JV squad late in the game.

^ am completely disagreeing with you about Scott. Say what you will about their wins and ranking, this is not a good team. This is also a team that lost to Holy Cross and Betsy Layne!

Holmes will beat teams that try to run with them. They are so athletic and quick very few teams can match up with them in a run-n-gun game.
Now, if a team doesn't fall into that style of play, Holmes is very beatable. Which shows with their losses to, Ryle, NCC and Campbell Co.
NKY basketball is WAY down from previous years, as you can see in their records when playing out of the NKY area.
It does suprise me that Coach Carr would fall into the trap of playing Holmes' game. He is a very good coach. Scott may be a good team compared to NKY teams but to other top teams in the state, no comparison.
Holmes too will struggle with any top team outside of NKY, they are just too young and inexperienced. They do have some outstanding players, ie Hayes and Rice but not enough to beat the better teams outside of NKY.

Very solid post. NKY basketball is not at the level we have seen in the past 10 years. Unless the 9th get's a very good draw (which Region do they play?) in the sweet 16, it will be an early exit.
