Only rumors. This will be just like the bell job. Everyone knows the score. There'll be speculation and there'll be many names thrown out there. In the end, it is a one horse race.

Just wait and see what i said

There will be NO Jay Cobb... Why would anyone want someone who jumps from program to program? Come on now... Scotty Russell is the only man for th job, IMO... Like my friend Radio said, we have scored more points as him OC than ever b4.....

I agree with you, but heard this from a pretty good source, we will just have to wait and see.
01-25-2011, 06:52 AM
The source is not as good as you think.

We need to see who all applies.... After all, Phill Fulmer may apply and we could not turn that application down, could we? Other than someone like him or Saban, I say we stay with Scott Russell and staff.
01-25-2011, 02:55 PM
wait did you just mention Fulmer in the same sentence and imply that they were somewhat equal? Fulmer won a title but that was a long time ago. Nick Saban has built every program he ever coached at into perennial title contenders. Character wise Fulmer might win out but coaching it isnt even close Saban all the way.
Btw Urban Meyer is also looking for a job with less stress than the major college level. I'd like to see him apply. lol

He won't get it, but look for Aaron Stepp to put his name in for this one. Heard some rumors that he had the Middlesboro job last year, but turned it down.
01-25-2011, 04:06 PM
Jay Cobb
01-25-2011, 04:10 PM
Stepp won't apply.

I agree and not to bring up hard feelings, but if Bell would have hired who deserved the job, you would not be looking for a coach.

Stepp need not apply. Everyone in EKY knows what kind of a joke he is. Ran off at his last 2 jobs after running them in the ground. He won some games at Clay but played some really weak teams to get those wins i.e. evarts and so on.

So...
Cobb is Crazy ?
Stepp is a joke ?
Whitaker is a flop ?
Robbins is somewhere in between ?
Russell is a terrible fit ?
Do you like any coaches in the state of Ky ? Seems like you have an axe to grind with every coach that gets mentioned on any and every link.

I am inclined to agree with your statement. Stepp would do a good job at KC as he did at Clay. I am not sure he would want to be back as a HC right now though. He did play some weak teams at Clay but people don't realize how bad that program was when he took over they only had around 15 players total when he arrived over there. I think Russell would be the best choice as the new KC coach.

Muney, Maybe you should be the next coach at Knox, since you think no one else can do a good job. You my friend are the joke! Getting on a message board and slandering everyone that works very hard at their profession. Oh BTW, Stepp won a district championship at Harrison so I don't think you can say he ran their program in the ground. He, Jay and several others would be great for Knox, but I believe that the job is Russell's since he has put his time in, has interviewed at other schools seems like he is ready to run his own show. But I can say that Knox would not go wrong with Stepp or Cobb if that is the route they chose. Just understand that stirring the pot does nothing for the program in a positive way if you really care about Knox.

I have said Russell is the best choice or Canady. Stepp is not a a good coach. If you believe that he is a good coach you are either a. family member b. a fan that thinks wins and stats are all it is to winning or c. just really don't know nothing.
So which one is it?
BTW Clay was also in bad shape when he left also. The district win over Harrison was short lived b/c he was ran out of town and at Franklin he took a team that was successful and winning to running them into the ground.

A. I am not Family
B. Not a fan
C. I know enough not to argue with ignorance such as yours.
Go back in the hole you crawled out of and let the people from Knox do their job and hopefully you are not from Knox because they are good people there and they deserve the best, which you are not.
As far as all the coaches on here I am sure they have a lot better success record than you or you would not get on here and bash them. I think all these coaches including Stepp are great guys and coaches and have earned the right not to be bashed by someone who hides behind a screen name. I am sure if you have some personal problem with any of these good ole boys they would gladly sit down and talkt o you about your concerns "little Willy Boy"

What has he said untrue....Cobb can't get along with anyone. (I know him)
............Stepp good guy I'm sure ...can't coach.
............Cherokee knows how well Whitaker is doing ( remember I said "self destruction")
The truth doesn't set well with a lot of folks.

All of the coaches mentioned in this thread are solid coaches and have had varying degrees of success. The point is that bashing any or all of them is futile because none of them will apply for the job and even if every coach in the state applied for the job it would not matter because it is Scotty Russell's regardless of what we read here.
The way I see it is that anyone who has been a head coach on any level even if it's pee wee ball has taken part of their life and dedicated it to kids. I don't think they deserve to be bashed or talked poorly about. I have never been the head coach of anything but I admire those that have been because it is a tough job.
Really the only question is when will they announce that the postion has been filled ?

jealousy is a bad thing skinnypig and this guy is a posterboy for it. By the way how is my favorite pig doing stop by sometime we will talk some football. REMEMBER EAT MORE CHICKEN
Canada and Russell would do a great job at Knox and should get the chance, I know Canada personally and consider him a friend. I'm sure that they will be several good coaches apply for the job and all will be worthy. I have watched little Jeffery Canada play since the 7th grade even then I knew he was a special player and a great kid. I wish Knox the best whom ever they choose they have come along way with the football program

Could someone tell me who Canady is? Is he on staff now or coaching somewhere else? Would that be Eric Canady that coaches at Lynn Camp?
01-27-2011, 11:27 AM
Jeff Canady, he was an assistant on Knox County Middle school and is the father of Jeffrey Canady the standout player for Knox. Also, his other son will be a freshman next year. He is widely regarded as a great football mind in Knox County for the work he did in Jr. Football.
01-27-2011, 12:35 PM
I am a personal friend off Jeff Canady, and I can assure you he is not interested in the job at Knox Central. I speak to him daily. He is a 100% supporter of Scotty Russell. He would help but I assure you based on several conversations that I have had with him he is not interested in the head coaching job. He would help in any way but does not want to be the coach.
01-27-2011, 12:37 PM
Jeff would assist Scotty in anyway. You can quote me on that.

I thought Evarts played Knox also. What about the Smith guy that had the job before Mills. Brilliant football mind. Really, Muney, there are a lot of ways to get help for your issues.:please:

I think you were trying to say you disagree with this statement, which I agree with if so. Cobb is a good guy and a great coach. People really don't understand the situation he was in with the current administration at Somerset. Some of the things he did and said in regards to Somerset after he left kind of rubbed me the wrong way but I played for him long ago and still consider him a friend. He is one of the best offensive minds in the state and a good mentor to high school kids. He would be a good hire for Knox if that is the route they decide to go.
In response to PBR, a lot of people have an axe to grind with Cobb because of the events that have transpired at Knott Co. and Somerset over the past couple of years.
Best of luck to Knox Cent. with the search though! Hopefully when this is all said and done you guys don't miss a beat when the new guy comes in.
