Lamar Dawson
I'd be shocked if Dawson doesn't sign with Kentucky.

I hope you dont get shocked than, I really hope goes to UK.
Kentucky at school yesterday, Oregon and USC at school today. Think it's those three. TN. on the outside as is UCF. Just my opinion.
^ I agree totally.
Lamar if its down to UK, Oregon, and USC go be an Oregon Duck. USC is on probation and UK is TRASH. Oregon will be a preseason top 5 team next season and has a chance to go to national championship. Chuck Smith CANNOT get you in the NFL and the exposure you will get at Oregon is 2nd to none, plus they have the coolest jersey's of any team in the FBS

Amen to everything you said!

"ThaRinger: With Dawson? He's Kentucky. Too much comfort with that staff."

 :letsparty
All probably true.

Oregon will be trash again soon enough.

Kentucky LB's in NFL = 3
Oregon LB's in NFL = 0

Just saying.

What 3 linebackers? Last I saw the guys that played linebacker at UK are safeties in the NFL. Lamar is not nor will he ever be a safety at any level. I also don't count on the practice squad as 'in the NFL' and Lamar won't either. There aren't any prominent UK linebackers playing linebacker in the NFL.
Practice squad or not, it's still more than what Oregon has.

Woodyard plays LB not safety and he starts.
Let's see. HS player has the dream to play in the NFL. Playing in the SEC gives you the quality opponent evry week to hone your skills. With the SEC's TV package you get the exposure. UK has a linebacker leding the SEC in tackels. Someone knows something about coaching LBs, That player is coming back next year which will take the pressue off a new young player. Travathan will get alot of looks and how many times have scouts come to watch a player and another player makes them take notice. Oregon plays in a conference that is weak other than a couple three teams. The best bet is UK or UT.

I stand corrected. One linebacker from UK plays linebacker in the pros. I wouldn't call 9 starts in 43 games starting though. 3 starts in 11 games this year.

So that's one. Where are the other 2 linebackers?

No point though......he is going to UK. A blind man can see that.
If he is good enough to go pro his school choice won't matter. I want to see him win in college. That's all.

Let's compare BCS bowl game appearances between the two then. You tell me who is better?

I like UK football but you guys are looking at things with Big Blue glasses on if you think UK is the best choice for him. He will choose UK but come on......him picking UK over Oregon and USC would be like a top 50 basketball recruit picking WKU when he could go play for Coach Cal. It doesn't make sense but good luck and have a long prosperous career nonetheless.

If he wants to play right away then UK or UCF is the best choice.

Woodyard plays LB for the Broncos. Who are the other two? Marty Moore is the only other UK LB to play in the NFL, he has been out the league several years now.

Micah Johnson? Sam Maxwell?

Are you really that young? :please:

Try googling: Joe Federspiel, Frank(?) LemMaster, Jim Kovach. Marty Moore was the early 90's so if you can go back nearly 20 years, surely I can go back 30 or 40.

I am sure if we go back that far we will find a few more Oregon and USC and UT linebackers also.
LClion4life Wrote:Micah Johnson? Sam Maxwell?

Neither were drafted and neither made it past the practice squad. Try again.

I meant to say Marty Moore is the only other LB from UK I remember to play in the NFL.
LClion4life Wrote:If he wants to play right away then UK or UCF is the best choice.

Right and imagine how much better he would be if he had to work even harder to get on the field instead of walking into an instant starting spot at UK or UCF. That explains why UK sucks so badly. Bunch of guys taking the easy way out.
What stands out to me about UK linebackers is that there are plenty who were great in college. Jeff Snedagar, Maxwell, Johnson, Woodyard, Marlon McRee etc etc but none of them panned out at LB in the pros. That worries me for a kid with NFL dreams and aspirations.
I understand what you are saying. If Micah had someone to push him I think he would have been better. Got way to big. Should have moved to DE. Just my opinion. I think it's more up to the player though. If they want it they will do the work. I think playing against SEC comp lets them see where they stand. Plus the NFL will find the best players no matter where they play. I would not blame him a bit if he chose Oregon. I just think he goes Blue and if he wants it bad enough he will reach the next level.
Hey. Calm down! Y'all got your panties all up in a wad.

Here's the way it goes. If you are good enough to play in the NFL, then it doesn't matter where you play D-1 college ball. They will find you. Whether it be at UK, Oregon, USC, UCF, or UT. So, frankly who cares?

And just to end the argument... USC has put more players in the pros, including LBs, than probably all the other schools listed put together. The only one that would come close to them would be UT....there it's over.
