I love putting my two cents in. I was enjoying a great game until I heard a rant from the Pikeville fan section saying "Betsy Layne Girls are E***" WHY???? Pikeville has always been a respectable program until they said that. I wonder why didnt anyone say anything until the BL principals did. I think it was KARMA. Dont Pikeville have about a dozen of boys and girls from the BL area???? Arent they former BL teachers teaching at Pikeville? I thought it was really ODD!

I heard it Critic and hoping I was hearing something else.

Besides that the game was good. BL got into foul trouble, Hamilton and Rezcnik really came big. I think BL better start making those free-throws or it is really going to hurt them down the road.

I for one was waiting to see how Betsy Layne plays when Nathan Martin doesn't score 20+ points and it happen tonight against what was arguable the second best team in the region. What a week though for the Bobcats, you beat Johnson Central with Parker and had them down by almost 20 and then you beat Pikeville when Nathan isn't hitting! I believe tonight though you seen a side of Betsy Layne's offense that no one will be able to stop and thats Hamilton posting up guards when he comes in off the bench. All those years playing as big man are going to pay because no guard in the region can stop him if he posts up without help.

sportscritic the reason no one made a big deal that chant was because it wasnt a big deal. it was a simple chant. Yes it was rude and disrespectful but wasnt worth a fight over. Seems like your the only one making a big deal out of it.

Great game plan by Betsy Layne. Overplay the guards and double and triple team down low. Pikeville's game plan of stopping Martin worked but the rest of the Bobcats stepped up and hit shot after shot.

Betsy Layne will be hard to stop.

I was setting on the Betsy Layne side and heard parents complaining. It amazes me that parents are more worried about what the opposing fans are saying instead of watching the game. :HitWall:

Both cheering sections had security guards posted beside them.

There have been security guards posted everynight. It is pretty hard to disregard something that is thrown at a child even by a child. Wonder what your response would be if it had been any other school but Pikeville that was chanting this!!!! The parents of these children should be upset also!!! Yes we were there to watch a game but no one deserves to be insulted. There was more than one insult that they chanted!!! Should they be patted on the head and say children will be children???

I did not see this game nor do I support either one of the teams, and my opinion really wouldn't matter much towards. Now what I wanted to say is that is exactly what a fan section is for to heckle the other team, get in their head, and it's usually all in good fun. Back in high school I was in the fan section heckling people all night, but I never meant anything personal by it. Just remember that when go to games and hear pep sections chanting or saying rude things.

There's one thing about it; you won't have to worry about Pikeville chanting obscenities for the rest of the tournament. They'll be at the bowling alley or some other place kids go to hang out when their team isn't playing, for the rest of the weekend.

Us holler folk do have trouble with understanding that BL kids going to other schools NEVER WORK OUT.

Name a kid that went to Pikeville or Prestonsburg that went on to college and played ball.
I can name quite a bit that didnt. Kids go to other schools get thrown to the side. It will happen again. I will point it out in the next few years dont worry.

And I'm not even from BL.

I would understand that kids are kids and they make mistakes. PEP sections try their best to get into the heads of the opposing team. This has been going on for years.

And by the way I was setting close to the BL cheering section and I heard a few rude comments as well. But I understand that this is a rivalry and students throw their emotions into the game. :eyeroll:
