"bballmama" Wrote:since when do you look at the floor when you shoot the ball?..I'm sorry but reading that made me really laugh outloud...so if we use the excuse that Paintsville's gym is the size of a grade school's gym then we have an excuse if we lose? or maybe it was the fact that the gym echos like a small cave?(see how ridiculous that sounds) I have never heard so many excuses for one loss in my life. Its a game, someone has to lose someone has to win.I sure hope people from Lawrence County can show good sportsmanship instead of making excuses when we get our first loss!
Just watch what I'm saying. LC will not lose at home. It wasn't an excuse for Paintsville. I'm not into excuses. LC was the better team that night. Oh, and trust me, when you play 99.99% of your games on a wood floor and then play on a funky gray floor, it will make a difference. LC is good and they DO have a home court advantage. They will not lose a district game at home.

Paintsville's gym the size of a grade school?????? It's the same size floor as all the others, so that was pretty stupid. Echoes like a cave??? Ignorant.

Nice try bballmama. You just didn't read my post right or you just want to try to start @#$%#$.:wtf1:

Now before you reply try to read thoroughly ...did i not say it sounded ridiculous?...And i did not say Paintsvilles Floor was grade school size just the gym, again read thoroughly before replying.Just trying to point out how silly YOUR excuses, and yes they were excuses sounded. If what you said was true then LC would be undefeated at home since the school was built, since we have had the same floor. And I do not need to start anything, enough gets started in here, I only have to reply to it.Which I do believe is called an opinion, just as yours is, correct?

And didn't I say that it was home court AND LC's talent. Again, you don't read very well.
#36
Of course LC has talent, thats a given since they did beat Paintsville but that wasn't the point I was trying to make. The objective was to make you see how ridiculous the examples I said were, just as the ones you had said were. And unlike you I can make a point like an adult without putting someone down personally. Every gym is different with it's own individual quirks and architecture which the hometeam becomes comfortable with after hours spent practicing and playing in it,hence why it's referred to as homecourt advantage?
#37
What i was wondering is how come every time LC does something good no one really wants to give them credit. I mean look they beat a very good Paintsville team and everyone was like good game now your gonna get beat next week I say that everyone needs to actually give credit were credit is due and start looking at the facts in stead of beleiving the hype about an team.

AS FOR MY PREDICTION!

LAWRENCE BY 5. THIS WILL BE A CLOSE GAME BUT I THINK THAT LC WILL COME AWAY WITH THIS ONE.
#38
sportwhiz that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life, the color of the floor and the lighting. The DAWGS won fair and square so leave it at that and get over the loss.
#39
I'm going with the Tigers at home...
#40
This game should be fun for the fans to watch, and should be fun to watch to see how the coaches counter each other.
#41
after the practice tigers had after the "first round"... im pretty sure they will be ready to play... cause I know they don't want to go through that again!

It will be hard to beat the tigers two times in a row. Especially with this one at home for them. Tough place to play.

Well, I'm glad you are finally getting my point about the home court advantage. Now, it wasn't that hard to understand, was it?
#47
Let me break this down in terms you can understand. EVERY team has a homecourt advantage. Could be why they are called the HOME team. Every gym has its own personality , not just the gym at LC. So saying LC won because of that excuse is ridiculous. And again as I said thats like saying Paintsville wins at home because of a silly reason like I mentioned before..sigh..tired of beating a dead horse

Like I said earlier, LC outplayed PHS. I didn't say PHS lost because of the lighting or floor. If you go back and read what I said first, then you will see that. PHS did not have an answer for Thompson. But, Thompson is not the only good player the Dogs have.

Hopefully PHS's home court advantage (hot gym) will help them. If it does, then great. But that doesn't make it an excuse for LC. No one will come on here for the Dogs and say that LC got beat because of the heat. Just like no one said PHS lost because of the LC's home court advantage. PHS lost because they flat out got outplayed period. Too many people try to read between the lines or I don't know, maybe they don't have anything else better to do than to argue and make absurd acusations.

You better wear a short sleeve shirt Friday night. I have a feeling it's going to be HOT.:BigLaugh: :BigLaugh: :BigLaugh:

Do not know but are they still drawing in the district or seeding now. If so this could be a bigger game then everyone thinks. They might meet again if so couldd decide if one makes the regional or not.
#51
If i am not mistaken it is a seeded distict.
#52
Both Are Looking Like Good Teams Already, But I'll Say Paintsville By 5 At Home...
#53
So sportwhiz what was the reason you even made the comment if you didn't mean it made a differences in the outcome of the game, I think you are talking in circles. I didn.t say Thompson was the only good player on the team. He had a good game so I think the stats speak for themselves. The DAWGS have several good players, and Paintsville 's lucky they all wasn't have a good night because they would of lost by more than 2 points.
#54
I love watching high school basketball and have been to many Gyms, The one that i cant wait to watch a game in is Paintsville Gym because the action is just so close to the fans, and its a great small Gym to watch a game in. It has its tradition just like every other school. So I will see all of you on friday.

#56
Well its game day! I will be going to Lawrence Co. @ Paintsville (Part II) are there anyone else planning on being there tonight? I would like to wish both teams good Luck.
#57
I'm interested in seeing if PHS can do anything with Thompson. They had no answer for him in the first game. PHS's has gotten tougher. My nephew told me Kevin Williams is out with a broken ankle. I hope that's not true. If it is true, Kevin will be back in early Feb. Injuries happen. It's all apart of the game. PHS needs to start playing as a team and really get after it.
#58
That would be hard for them, if he is the one i was thinking of, Is he there Center. I am sure they will do alot of things different, I think we will see a lot more zone.
#59
i say the blue and white wins this one very handily it should be a total blow out
#60
So tell me brotherinarms, why is this going to be a total blow out. You know what i dont understand is that here is a lawrence co team that was up 7 points late, and five with 3 sec, and took a 3 at the buzzer to cut it to 2 points, that is going to come to paintsville and get blowed out, but yet will never mind because its the same thing over and over. Lawrence co may come up there and get beat, if they do then Paintsville is the better team that night. But what and if Lawrence Co comes up there and wins again, what is everyone going to say this time, the gym was to hot the lighting was just off, come on people give credit to these kids, they have worked really hard to be were they are, and put them in a good spot to win again, Good Luck to both Teams.
