Celtics/Knicks Rivalry?

What say you?
Saw them talking about it on ESPN. Pierce laughed when asked about it. Most analysts don't believe it's a rivalry but I'm sure there some older members on BGR that remember some of these teams battles back in the day Big Grin

To me it's not a rival based on how awful the knicks have been in recent years. And the way the crowd is tonight, There so quite and the knicks are winning.

I don't think it's a rivalry either but it definitely has the potential to be one again. Especially if the Knicks get Melo.

It can only be a rivalry when both teams have a chance to beat each other every year. The Knicks have been so bad for the past several years, this is no longer a rivalry. Maybe last night helped to rekindle, but it's not a rivalry right now.

It may not be YET. But I'll tell you, these Knicks sure are fun to watch. Amare is an animal. God I wish we had him in Philadelphia (who, by the way, have won THREE straight) Big Grin

Amare is playing out of his mind right now.
They just stopped the longest active win streak in the NBA and extended theirs.

I'll at least say this.

They could beat anyone in a 7 game series the way they are playing right now.
Except for maybe the Spurs.

They can't be the best team because they just got beat by the team with the best record in the Eastern Conference. Two big hits against them.

I don't know about a rivalry, but Amar'e Stoudemire is my favorite player, and he played some ball last night. I think he has to be in MVP consideration.

It's not a rivalry, yet.
But I'd say Knicks have PP's number, and the antics he put on at the Garden didn't make matters any better for the future games to be played lol...
